Ok so I know you’ve all got an opinion and I’m leaving myself wide open.
BUT!
I am considering upgradeing to a late model offroader and I like the Husky range.
SO 2 or 4 stroke and which model provides the best all round ride offroad and on?
Light is GOOD, electric start is great, for older gentlemen like myself.
The bike will get 80% dirt and 20 road.
Or perhaps the new electric start KTM300.
I do like 2 strokes I’m funny that way and I havn’t had a lot of experience with the newest 4 strokes.
Wodyurecon??Dudes opinion Kawasaki klx 450. bit bias tho.
Go for a bargain they are all great compaired to the old school stuff.( what retiring the PE are we)
4 stroke bike seem to have more controlled power. That’s a good read PTW.
well done.
I like ya 1st clip. :cheer:
How high do you dudes intend to raise the bar? 😆 awesome.

Pmed moto and offered to sweep his ride, he said cool or something like that. :cheer:
Turned up at starting point where ktmmick and Jack were getting ready.
I said to Jack that I was looking forward to scaling some legendary hills I have heard about. :cheer:
He said he hadn’t ridden for 6 months.Moto and the crew turned up and away into the wilderness we advance. :cheer:
Bit dusty but as sweep you can back off a bit so as to let the dust disperse, just at a length so as the dust cloud is drifting away from your path.
What sticks in my mind is a track called ‘Whitemans’ :woohoo:
This trail is on par with Amazon but with more rock steps, It was quite challenging.
It’s a bucket list trail, a must do once, just to say you done it.Went down woose hill that is sight to behold, its magic to look up at the angle and to see 40steps in 50 meters. :woohoo:
Good crew and special thanks to LC4skin for lending and hand on the critical sections of these mad accents.
Its was an excellent ride and felt very satisfied later on. :cheer:
Thanks for letting me tag along.
Dude
PS in that creek I thought I saw a gold nugget so went to investigate. 😆
Bad bum crack……….what happen was this..
Following the crew and they disappeared over this cliff I get to the edge and focus down and the line was right to left, bad sharp rocks on right at bottom ……so
got off bike to drag the ass end of bike so as to be set up for a better line but there was a tree in the way and couldn’t drag back end around enough,
so I thought I will change direction as I decend.
At the top there was a step on my left and My LHS peg was getting caught up on this bum cheek and as I was on my way….it was causing tipping to my bike to the right.,,,,,,,, bad side
F**k this and spun to my left to catch a ledge on the rock face as I was dropping which I done then managed the slow drop to the bottom.I say success
:cheer:
made it.
😆 😆Put on a new chain and sprockets
looks like 1850kms you get out of chain and sprockets. :cheer:
You do see the sore tooth.
Hows this I got these extras when I bought the bike and when I went to fit the chain today some one had already cut the chain 3 links short   so had to get another joining link. :dry:And a new back tyre IRC M5B. Not quite the tyre for these dry conditions but it might rain

The main jet will be fine because thats only wide open stuff and by the sounds you arent reaching that yetI agree mainly with TB though you don’t have an airscrew, you have a fuel screw, this is an important difference when trying to tune your carby.
As far as the needle goes, this can get confusing depending on which way you look at it. To raise the needle and lower the clip as TB suggests you need to put the needle circlip in the next slot down from where it currently is. Typically there are 5 slots at the top of the needle, 1 being at the top and 5 being at the bottom and 1 being the leanest, 5 being the richest respectively.
The current jetting will most likely be casuing ‘lean bog’ and a subsequent little backfire or pop. Adjust your fuel screw first and then have a crack at the needle too.
I have the same bike and the big muffler and taken out the snorkle as well as drilled a heap of hole in the air box……….this may help the guy I bought the bike off said the mechanic adjusted the fuel screw 2 1/4 turns from the bottom and said later I may have to turn it to 2 1/2…..which I have not done a this time ,it still goes too good for me..
Ant dude
Could be bad fuel
My KLX450 only uses 98 BP ultimate fuel and no dramas but once I put bad fuel ‘not even sure what it was’ and for the next hour and a half of riding it was back firing and stalling, was quite concerning but came good and now happy days.
Gday King Bolls and Tamworthains,
I hereby anounce that I will be attending or just happen to be riding in that area and at that time so we might just happen to meet. 😆
Till then.
