yeah mick that’s the one. i had a cousin who was doing a motorbike mechanics apprentership there and he got me a start. the oldman said if i got a job i could leave school so i was outer there quick smart. the RD’s were great bikes. a bloke i know had 250 than got the blue and white 350. they were a bit of a weapon the old RD’s.

good one TB ahh the memories. i had a 125h and a 125j aswell also an 80e, 80h and 80j. the oldman bought me the 80e and 80h than i left school an got a job at mc culloch yamaha on the production line puttin bikes together. i was 15. than i got retrenched (they shut after 6 months and we all got the arse) and bought the 80j from from a younger guy from the the local area, the 125’s came later. i wish i still had em now though. i loved ridin em all. to & from the local tracks on the roads with me mates was always a hoot. they never let me down either although i did’nt do them justice cause i was always stackin em and bendin things. anyway TB thanks again for the ride down memory lane..have a good one.

sound like a good ride there mick. sometimes when ya don’t plan em they work out pretty good ah. it’s good ridin up your way..i’ve done a fair bit through there over the years as the father inlaw backs onto the forest near the go-cart and dirtbike club. have a good one.

hey moto i’ve been doin the premix thing for years. you should be able to do the same distance as murph on his 4 banger before refuelin. i carry a bit of oil and one of those big syringes that ya get from the chemist. i think they hold 100-120mls.

if i’m on me own at the servo i turn me petrol off and just fill up keepin an eye on the litres and makin sure i leave a bit of room for the required amount of oil. then i just put the oil in and shake the shit out the bike before turnin the petrol back on.

i run my 08 300 at 50:1 as that’s what Cessnock ktm recommended when i bought it. athough he did say that ya could run en as lean as 80-90:1 if needed.

50:1 seems to work for me. i run everythin stock aswell with the mapping switch wich i muck around with on hills a bit.
i have loaded up one plug but that was more to do with me just being absolutly rooted in some tight shit and not being able to open it up and clean it out.
so i always carry a plug cause once they shit emselves the’re pretty f**ked.

As i get older it’s been pretty easy to put the weight on and i’m now startin to get a bit self conscious about it aswell. i’ve got a bit of a barrel belly goin these days and even when i suck it in it doesnt disappear like it used to.I’m no expert on diets and stuff but a bloke i work with is right into it and he reckons sugar’s pretty fucked. anyway TB it’s good to be talkin about it cause it’s easy to pretend that everything is alright and just go along as if we’re all youngens still. As blokes we all think we’ve gotta be macho and all that stuff which is good for a shit stir and a laugh with mates but we tend not to talk about this sorta stuff with each other.If this helps some of us lose a bit lard than that’s exellent so good luck to all.
