My bro inlaw just brought a 07 ktm 450 for $5000 with about 6mths rego. It goes nice and revs out real good. He’s since binned it and stuffed his foot but that’s another story:laugh:

Yeah they are unreliable sometimes but the alternative now is DRZ . That is why they are the most popular dirt bike at present.[/quote]

    I hear ya Aaron
Lets hope the bike builders are paying attention and start building better engines. Nothing wrong with the drz though. They may not be as quick as some but they are damn good trail bikes. :)

You should get a bike that best suits your needs and ride as many as possible like TB said. I like the bigger bikes because i like a bit of grunt and they are nice and playful but I know i can’t ride em as fast as a 250 in the tight stuffB) Overall they suit me though. I weigh over hundred kilos also. As for brands I reckon they are all very good these days except for chinese ones. You’ve got me dreamin about new bikes now:woohoo:

    Catch ya’s on the trails.

I was thinking about this a bit more last night. Most riders that can ride from home really don’t need to have one cause they can mostly go for a ride whenever they want. But someone who has to trailer their bike to a ride may be more inclined to use a gps so their can come back. I would’nt think of goin on a ride with some fellas at Bathurst for example and gps the tracks because if i went back there I’d just go riding with same fellas:) Same for OldBull rides. If I had one maybe I’d use it if i got lost to help get back on track/home but I’m in no hurry as managed ok so far.
