Fancy a DRZ400 rider asking if a 300 two banger has enough power for serious trail riding??It would eat your yellow shitter for breakfast Boony ,so stop stirring the resident Kato riders and have a go on one.
I rode a brand new , literally out of the box one, at louee and was impressed. I will say that the 300 gasser seems to have more “tractor power” though from what I have seen.
Here I was innocently thinking I was helping a fellow Old Bull last night before goin to the pub for a couple only to wake up this morning to find Boony was taking the piss:P What’s the world comin to:evil:
yes mate no worries with the weight at all. great in the air over mounds and up hills they just keep pullin. Good if ya stack it too as they are nice and light and kick start heaps easy.
Yes Boony I love my 08 model and I loved my 99 model too. They go fast and go anywhere but so do a lot of bikes. Get ya bum on one so ya can see if one suits ya.MMMMMMMMMM alright
Hey Murph. How’s it goin mate? I’d like to come on this but I’ll be on my way back from Mick’s ride and Wauchope:laugh: Next time:lol: Just going on what you and STM and EV are talking about if ya get something organised later on I’ll give ya hand sweeping or what ever ya need if ya want. Just let me know mate no problemos:lol:
G’day Axel. Yes mate they were a good product and it is a shame that they ain’t around anymore. Not sure if the bloke died though as I thought I spoke with him after the car stack. He said that he was in a head on and was pretty stuffed. He had a bashy that was nearly complete to suit my 99 model 300 and was gunna finish it and send it to me. It all turned up and all was good however I may have got the story wrong or forgotten some of it. It may have been his partner/worker that I spoke with and finished it.
Mal, my Hyde bashy has busted the bolt bit off the clamp on some of them and I just put some wire through and between the clamp and the pipe and just wired that through the bashy holes and tightened it nice and tight:lol: and it seems to be holding pretty good so far.
Why is the guy hugging the rider, hell they are only sitting there for a picture? He doesnt need to even be on the bike he could have stood behind. I bet its a KTM rider thing thats why I dont understand
Sorry Mal back on topic

He’s probably a honda rider just wanting some KTM love:lol::kiss: It must be hard for Honda riders to understand as most of em are self centred posers:P
G’day Mal. I’ve got the Hyde one and it works heaps good but sometimes it fills up with crap aswell. On muddy rides it can fill up and the mud has moulded to the pipe and been a hassle to get out. I’ve had to take it off to get all the mud out which had dried out and gone hard. It adds a bit more weight aswell.
On most rides though it gathers a few leaves and crap and normally just washes out.
Sometimes I get the young bloke to get his hands in there and pull it all out for me:laugh: .
On my old 300 I had a Hamtec/Hamlet or something like that. A guy in Vic used to hand make em out of aluminium. You used to just tell him what bike ya had and ya pipe and he’d make it for ya.:cheer: They were good ones too as they went right around ya expansion chamber and down under ya sump like the Hyde one but without all the holes . The last time I spoke to him (about 5 years ago) he was telling me that he got in a car stack and was pretty messed up and was giving it away if I remember rightly:(

February 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm in reply to: Mick’s Annual Birthday Ride 4th & 5th of March 2011 #196112I’m in too please STM.
It was such a good ride last year and I had ball so I’d hate to miss it this year.
All good for me execpt the smileys icons are sometimes there to use and sometimes they aint. That happened with the old set up too sometimes.
They are not there know.
Mate ya just gotta go for few rides without stacking to keep her happy. She’s just worried about ya. Make a point of goin for ride and when ya get back without comin off keep lettin her know. And blame the crashes that ya have had on someone or something else as long as she knows it was’nt your fault.
Dont let him out of your site dusty, local bloke hear is $190 for 2, with forks out of bike
cheers Hatto[/quote]
no worries mate…will do. Hope ya get it sorted either way.
I’ve had a go at doin seals before and was never happy or real confident. These days I get the guy at East Maitland to do it. He charged me $70 to do one side as it was the only one blown. That included oil. I just took the fork leg in and he sorted it out. He seemed to do a good job and I was happy with the price.
Yes TB it’s a good park. Was it a ride away job. Hope the rider was OK.
If I have a ride organised and it’s hot I’ll still go but I generally do less riding over the summer months. I sweat like a bastard some days and just try and keep riding without stopping to keep the airflow going.
