I think 3M adhesive remover & Cleaner is a good start if they plastics are old & had others on before.
Then Dow Corning OS-2 Silicone Cleaner & Surface Prep before applying the new ones, it removes all residues and gives a good clean surface. I actually use these products to apply Decals to Trains for Railcorp that we build, thats sticking them to Bead Blasted Stainless Steel and it works a treat
Also use the same prep in side the trains on fibreglass panels etcSlightly soapy water sprayed on the new decals to allow them to be positioned, then rubber squeegee to remove the water & let them stick where you want them to stick
A warm blow with a heat gun helps to form them over difficult curves etc & also assists the glue to adhereGood Luck mate,, it can be an artform in itself
Some rare footage of Murph off his bike right here (you will note young Smurph sitting at the hilltop too resting while the Old Man struggles up) :laugh:Good onya anyway boys, the temp was up a tad yesterday let alone riding those trails as well  :pinch:

There are some good adhesives for rubber around, but it is still a gamble
One certainly worth trying though
Good point Jeffro on the older models ?????
BTW, I reckon your theory sounds like as good one, Glueing some HD Rubber onto the teetless faces should be a good start

A bit of a worry with the wear on the inside of the hub
I would like to think Yamaha would be onto the problem with some more interest in resolving the problem :whistle:Great informative vids there mate

Thank Christ my Kato rubbers are different design to those Yammy ones
They are more rubust looking with a groove thet allows them to fit snug over the hub splines, no flimsy joinnf bits lie the Tenere rubbers ,,,,,,As far as I know, mine are the original rubbers and there is stuff all movement with 13,000 odd k on the clock ,,,,
I really don`t care whether you washed the thing or not !!!!
