Way to go old boysLooks liike a tonne of fun up there
Truth be known Mick,,,
He got sick of chasing me last weekend over the three day ride, so went out & snapped up Chris` :laugh:Nah, only joking
, it was a week long affair to hook up the sale ,,,,
He will be stoked I think, once he becomes one with the Beast
Talking of 690`s,,, I just got off mine from a loop up to Mungo Brush (Myall Lakes National Park) to surprise visit my parents who are camping there, then over the ferry to Buladelah & back
Met a guy on a 1200 Beemer with his wife at the Bombah Pt Ferry, they might join up OBT
Damn, the LC4 donks love cruising above 110k :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:Nah no link , Got it from Newcastle KTM actually

DRool wrote:I was wondering what the secret was. My problem is whenever I wash the bike it wants to go out straight after and always leads me to puddles and mud  .
Are you sure you have a DR and not a Labrador Pup ???? They like to do that after a bath
Yeah, Thanx TB,,, I was wondering how the Pro Clean performed .
Bugs are a biartch to shift especially after a few days baked on there :whistle:Looks the goods
ps , It must kil you too not using Bikeshine
Got a new mount for mine from Z Teknik , good strong fully adjustable bit of kit, fits an array of different bars diameters with the aid of adaptop sleeves
Also has the ability to adapt to heaps of different units with the attachment plate a good size with a fairly standard offset of holes pre-drilled.
Fitted straight onto my Go Cruise bracket in 2 minutes flat
They also have extension arms available of varying sizes ,,,,,,,

He does a great job, locally made and super tough
I have the Barrett on my 690 and it too gets some comments on the sound it produces :woohoo:
Good installation pics too TT ,,, Did you do a weight comparison ???? It would be a massive reduction
Thanx
Yeah Squizzy, FULL REGO REQUIRED mate,
For the cost you have the pleasure of trouble free riding theHope to see you on the Watagan trails soon hey ???
Oh,,,, Welcome aboard & to Newy mate
Yeah, That`s about how it happened
Good read, cheers
It certainly was an Adventure rideand Boony reckons they are soft (would have liked to see the Narny along with us on his slicks !!)!
I thought the same thing,,,,
Tall trees, thick clouds and the storm,,,,,, but they still blipped or whatever it is they doEAGS` Final Leg
So after we had a feed at Hungry Jacks (that took forever to get I might add) :S  we hightailed it over to Jerrys Plains to fuel for the final run to the Putty. Lefty filled the fuel bladder this time as they planned a run for the Blue Mountains from here and it was gonna be a lte one getting home as it was.
Out to Apple Tree Flat where we had a little detour finding the way, a quick call to MickP regarding access through the gate on the top end. There is some 400m of Private Property to go thru to access the way to the Commission Rd and onto the Putty Rd.Here is where it became a tad dusty at the back of the pack of 5 and I dropped back behind Deano`s dust trail , my eyes were already starting to get tired & sore from the ride & dust getting thru the goggles, so it was a daunting run on some of the trails with deep sandy corners, loose rocky bits & the setting sun filtering thru the trees right into my eyes at times
We had a couple of small backtracks in this section also and got turned around twice on dead ends, but eventually we wound our way onto the Commission Loop.
Plenty of ups & downs, twists & turns on this one and it is still in pretty good nick considering the traffic it had had from bikes the past few months,,,Eventually we popped put on Putty Rd, about 6k short of the entry to Yengo which was the way home fr me & Deano. We said our quick goodbyes to TB, Deej & the Left One but decided to fang it up the Putty to Milbrodale and around to Cessnock to fuel up ratherthan take on the Kangawallafoxes on Yengo and the Watagan Valley (It was already 6pm when we hit the Putty & Dean was keen to get off the dirt)
So we did just that, and I realise halfway round that my headlight was blown :pinch: (most likely from the vibrations of the past 1000k) It was a rather sketchy run to Mulbring & over Sugarloaf till I got some relief from Streetlights in Edgeworth for the run home, arriving just before 8pm (had left Nundle at 9am sharp & rarely stopped all day)That`s it, trip done, what a hoot and an eye opener for me. Didn`t realise I had the legs just yet for such an adventure Big Thanx to TB, Deejay & Lefty for dragging us along.
The 690 performed extremely well & proved to be very comfortable with the aid of MickP`s Airhawk seat (gotta get me one of those)Cheers
Well, The Spot seemed to work pretty well on the recent Wauchope-Nundle run
All messages came thru relatively quickly & the tracking function kept the missus happy & off my back :laugh:I ran it strpped to my camelback shoulder strap (next to my helmet, with logo facing the sky) & it didn`t bother me once the whole trip. Was a bit of a bugger to see what button to push when sending messgaes though
Overall extremely happy with the unit & peace of mind it gives

I think the unknown is what makes it and having to deal with the conditions as they arise. You hit the nail right on the head with that statement Lefty, that is what puts the A in adventure riding. Gotta throw the occasional Valley of death section in, or the ride isn’t as memorable!
 Ours was different Mick,,,, it was the Mountain of DOOM :woohoo:
