    Well,
I went back to the Nabiac Museum yesterday with some guys from work for an RDO ride ;)
Was going to do a solo cruise thru the Wattos & out to Laguna, but the prospect of some other blokes to ride with was alright too (although they were on 4 Harleys & a Triumph)

The 690 hauled ass up the highway no worries at the rear of the procession, one Harley had an inpromptu lydown on the corner to the Buladelah Pub  (legs too short was the excuse) :silly: No damage done,,,

The reason I was posting this up was that the guy from the Museum was proud as punch to show off the 1914 Militaire wooden spoked wheels & all B)
Apparently the insurance companies approached were not willing to set a value & told old mate to name his own price
He also commented on what a great weekend we had (apart from the cabins cross the road) and we are welcome back for more Nabiac hospitality anytime,,,,

It was a wind blast in the face on the way home after lunch (need a dual sport helmet real soon)

And it would be Boony the biggest Post Whore to thank for that of course :silly:

It is a big number though, just the same, and if you take out Boony`s crap stuff, there are still plenty of great informative posts

Not too big, waterproof, reliable software, colour screen & works a treat :)

Well, My daughter is out for the night at a sleepover, son is hiding in his Mancave downstairs  And the missus is head down into school reports,,
So I snuck out for a 25k run in the dark thru some lakeside suburbs, checked out the local BMX racing on the way thru and back home in time for tea …

Heatshield can be touched with bare hands as soon as I got off the bike (I realise that it is winter & nighttime, but can`t see it gaetting that much hotter really)
So all good I reckon ;)

Can I post this as my first ADV ride report ??? :woohoo:

Might do another one tomorrow time permitting

Looks to me Eag like the holes in the heat shield might match up with the 2 bolts at the rack mounting point.

    Actually No mate, they don`t,,,
It goes where it is now, He had it bolted thru the guard into the tail tidy thingy

I have added one more hole & tie this morning & all is tight & fits well. May get a test in the next week if I am lucky
Loaded tent, chair & stuffed the bags to simulate a load as well, just need a rear rack of sorts to rearrange the tent to access fuel filler quicker. At the moment, it is only to undo two occy straps and remove tent, but that will change in time :)

    Cheers

    Yeah TB,
That was oe of my ideas (the Rotopax System) for in the future , you read my mind ;)

Will source some ally plate later on just like that then , and the P Clamps

I have just come up from adding the Heatshield that I got with the racks a while back,,,
I have modded slightly (he had it double layered but I think he had the standard hot pipe )
I temporarily attched it with solid ties till I test run it to check the heat etc (I did have some stainless steel ties somewhere but have misplaced them in the move)

I don`t want to screw or bolt it on just yet,,,,
