One day, I keep telling myself, one day
Thanx for the report Micko
I`m off to work now with visions of that trip in my head
Sounds like you had fun then :woohoo:
You can have a repreive on the report till tomorrow then mate
Cheers
C`MON Jeffro & Beemer
Where`s the reports & pics etc
Did ya take on the “RUSSIAN BLACKBERRY TUNNEL OF DEATH”
Mate, Don`t worry about the BIGGER BIKE thing,,,
I attend most of these weekends on my `04 KLX250 :laugh:OBT isn`t about the fastest or best bikes & riders etc, it is about getting amongst it with great people
I`m sure TB will answer your question on the trip ASAP (think he is enroute to Brisbane at the moment for work)Enjoy yourself on here mate, it is easy to do :woohoo:
I don`t doubt it Rocket,,,
Have heard nothing but praise on the running of the event & how good the special tests were etcBut I looked forward to daily updates, pics, vids etc as were available last year
The Dakar, Aus Rally, Condo etc and those types of events all seem to be cast to us pretty quickly, and I would have loved the A4DE to be the same, even more so than the others to be honest
Next year I will have to be more organised in advance & get myself to the event in person.
Will have to wait for the pics etc to continue on here I suppose
Still, the OBMCC deserve a massive pat on the back for running the event, which must be a massive ordeal to start with, also the volunteers that put the effort in (such as you Rocket & MickP etc)
Cheers
Not sure yet Rocket, but I know that Toby Price took the lead going into Day 4 after Merriman lost 30 odd secconds yesterday due to a crah on the second test!!!
The overall info on the net has been poor,,, At least the event was run well apparently,,, Good Job to the Organisers on that front by the sounds of it

Yeah, I noticed that & thought, “that would be enough to unsettle most on the Run Up”
 Shifty alright, might start calling you Thrifty as Ollie if you keep that up
Will be interesting to see the difference in training programmes they all offer you
Depends if they know what they are doing I suppose,,,,,Have fun & kep it up Spidit, you are making good progress
Found this,,,
Merriman, 36, from Nelson Bay (NSW) now leads the 260-strong field by 27-seconds (provisional result). Toby Price is in second.
The WR450F pilot was ahead by 13-seconds after Day 1. He took the win in six from seven tests today.
“My day went pretty well, I beat [Toby Price] in a fair few tests and I felt I was riding well,” Merriman said.
“Both Toby and I are pushing pretty hard… I’m just trying to be as consistent as I can.
“I’m really happy I extended my lead, hopefully I can keep it rolling and win this four-day.
“My WR450F is working great, I’m happy with how it’s going, I’m really enjoying riding it. ”
Merriman now has about six special phases and trail section tomorrow and the final motocross on Day 4.
Another of Yamaha’s racers turning heads and laying down fast times is YZ450F rider, Queenslander ‘King Kirk’ Hutton.
Hutton, 36, from Kobble Creek (Pine River’s Shire) finished the day fourth Outright and third in E2. Hutton was third Outright in four of the special tests.
“I’m really happy with my day today. The grass tracks were awesome and everything was flowing and working really well,” Hutton said.
“I managed to pick good lines and my YZ450F was hooking up awesome.
“Hopefully I can maintain my speed and carry it over to day three. At the moment I am feeling really good on the bike.”
New Zealander Rory Mead was loving the pristine grass track special tests on his YZ250 two-stroke, Mead is sitting eighth Outright and sixth in E2.
Fellow Kiwi Adrian Smith (YZ144) is also sitting well in the Outright and class stakes: 12th and fifth.
Ballard’s Wellard Yamaha riders Ben Burrell and Josh Ballard are sitting third in E1 and ninth in E2 respectively.
In the Women’s category Yamaha is again dominating with Jessica Gardiner leading Jemma Wilson and Alison Parker (all aboard WR250F’s).
The Yamaha A4DE consists of four days of grueling trail and about seven to eight special test phases a day, equaling a total of about 30 hours and more than 1000kms on the machine. Riders must also complete a final motocross on day four.
The class structure of the A4DE was changed for this year, reducing the number of classes to six: E1 (100cc to 150cc 2-Stroke & 150cc to 250cc 4-stroke), E2 (175cc to 250cc 2-stroke & 275cc to 450cc 4-Stroke), E3 (290cc to 500cc 2-stroke & 475cc to 650cc 4-stroke), Veteran’s (Over 35-years), Master’s (Over 45-years) and Women All Powers.
Yamaha A4DE Outright Top-10 (Provisional after Day 2)
Stefan Merriman E2
Toby Price E2
Jarrod Bewley E1
Ben Grabham E3
Kirk Hutton E2
Daniel Milner E2 Jason Davis E2
Rory Mead E2
Matthew Phillips E1
10. Ben Burrell E1I really wanted to get to Dungowan Dam, but everyone told me it is closed to all access!!!
Any idea why Boony ???
I see the track from the Patch leads straight to it,,,, apparently the gate is huge & fines apply to anyone who gets in there too :angry:Yeah mate,,, I was really relaxed to be honest. Although a few late nghts round the Fire pit sorted me out (Bundy Bear was there too)
Our dinner at the Pub sat night went well, Jeffro fitted into the Nundle scene real well
Laid back & cruisy is the name of the game up there
Will be up for a blast with Dan in August if not before
Cheers
I think the A4DE site has been very poor as far as posting results, pics etc on a day to day basis
I look forward to the news & goss on these events every day & have been rather dissapointed with thin one so far.
TB & Mal have done them over real good :laugh: Take ya dust goggles with ya boyz,,,
I did a round trip thru the forest up there on Monday out past Ponderosa & thru to Dongowan, the Patch, Niangala and back thru Woolomin to Nundle.
It was as dusty as I have ever seen on a forest road & the cars behind me were spread well out :laugh:We are well famous at the Berry Patch & the van park,,, I even spotted some OBT Flyers on the desk at the office when I checked in last thurs
Good Work Boony
He did remember me from last July`s event tooWe did get rain on the Tuesday night though which made for wet packing up on Wed
