I like the pic of Mal getting acquainted with Princess Leia , I bet Mad Eyes was jealous
 Imagine you were a Dakar Rider, got your navigation wrong or worse still were still stuck on a Desert Stage at night (which dozens of riders were daily)
And you fall into one of the many Sinkholes in the Dunes   :unsure:Would be “GAME OVER” I think

I wasn`t being sarcastic at all mate, sorry if it came across that wayI was only applauding Corey for sticking to his plan & going ahead with the ride. I know he was a bit hesitant to run it when his mate & leader pulled the pin early
Sounds like they had an absoute ball yesterday & will have another again today with those Big XR`s chasing all day  Mick & Moose on Ol` Burple will go anywhere I tell a
Cheers
Hi There Busy,,,
I see you are a Wauchopian & a mate of the Rat!!!
We can`t all be lucky in life I suppose  read into that whatever way you like
You will have a tonne of fun on here for sureSee you on the trails one day mate
 Creepy Bloke, Creepy Combover, Lost Soul
What was I supposed to do when I had made it to Wollombi a bit earlier than expected, I rode up to Broke, fuelled up, had a cool drink, sat in the shade for half an hour, then ran into a nice bloke with his wife on roadies.
I got a bit concerned that I couldn`t get hold of TB still on the blower by 3.30, so I took the run back to Wollombi incase they had changed the plan & come up thru Laguna instead :laugh:Turns out they hadn`t & were running a tad later than expected, so I bumped into then just out of Wollombi again
Good to meet Mal(Suttos), Natalie & the guys, Ross too. Also good to catch up with Mal 5.1 & the ever smilimg MickG again (That Strom was huge Mick  )As it was a bit late when we headed back towards Newy TB decided to bypass the stopover at the Nest (so i have some black cans to drink by myself now)
Sorry I couldn`t spend more time with the guys, but I was knackered after the first week on the new job & a 4am start sat morning :blink:Have a safe ride today Dudes & say G`Day to Beemer for me on the Central Coast
Despres WIns Dakar again
At the end of stage 14, during which his position was never really threatened, Cyril Despres gets his third victory in a Dakar after winning the rally raid in 2005 and 2007. For this last stretch, that was literally a straight line, the KTM rider had a 1h04’20’’ lead on his closest contender in the standings, Pal-Anders Ullevalseter. Naturally, this fairly remote threat was easy to control for the Frenchman who just did what it took to get his bike to the finish line… still at an average speed of 133 km/h.
Mal 5.1 will be pleased as well to see there is still a SHERCO in the top 30
It is PISANO (FRA) SHERCO in pos 29 at 12hr32min03 behind the lead
Good onya Corey
Nice report & great effort in organising the weekend ride!!I know Mick & the boyz were chomping at the bit to get there when I spoke to him last night, they were busy prepping the steeds  or was that repairing the XR400
sounds like they got it sorted
Pity that the other blokes couldn`t make it in the end
Their loss though mate, so full credit to you for going ahead with the event
Look forward to Days two & some piccies :woohoo:
Great find TwoBanger,,
I have saved some of those for wallpapersOn the overall standings after the penultimate stage, it is interesting but not really surprising how close the pace has been between the longtime rivals Despres & Coma !!!
If you take off Coma`s penalties which are 6hrs22mins, he is only actually 10mins25seconds slower than Despres after almost 9000ks of racing :woohoo:
The nearest to Despres in second place at the moment is ULLEVALSETER at 1hr4mins12secs
and LOPEZ CONTARDO in third at 1hr8min34secs
How good are the other two ?????????????
Yeah, I think Geoff Ballard uses TTR forks doesn`t he ??? Interesting
Good Luck with the seals Dan
