Hey Hey,,,
Welcome to the Nuthouse Junior
I see you have already met some of the main culprits ???Being a Newy local I dare say we may meet up on the trails sooner rather than later , keep an eye out for after Xmas mate
I wasn`t joking on that lookout mate
Just hate to see guys planning a ride to have it stuffed up on the day !TB or Al would have chimed in on it anyway ,,,
Sadly we are losing or already lost too many good routes mateCheers
Back to the drawing board
My first car was a 2 smoker Suzuki Stockman with a stereo in the back like that :woohoo:
Took up more than half the back and added to the Oil consumption  :laugh:I used to pull into a servo, fill the Oil Res bottle and check the petrol 😆
Great times when ya get ya first wheels hey ?????????
MrSquiggle wrote:Thats almost the hill end ride we were going to do :cheer: so its all good. Blackhands instead of bridle sound like a good swap to me. Depending on fuel you could even cut out the tar section from capetree. Its about 420 ks.
Have you been out through three ways across the guts plindz? Kat sold me on that route on the St Albans over nighter a couple of weeks ago and it looks like it links up. If not it would probably make a good overnighter for another weekend, if your tent doesnt end up in the skip at woodstock you could even join in

What Kat was talking about is up the Commision Rd and hang the right and overnighter at Sheepskin Hut, then continue the loop back around on Day 2.
The gate is locked to go across mate…. Has been for 20 yrs thanx to National Parks finding a Wolemi Pin tree allegedly :whistle:I got to do it in 4×4`s a few times prior to it`s closure and it was AWSOME country.
MrSquiggle wrote:plindz wrote:After the “Grand Poobah” said “see who’s sitting on the sideline” i thought I’d throw this in for a starter for the Newie contingent about getting to Lithgow for the start of the nav ride. Me, Febs, squiggle & OFBM are starters and working on a ride to get there. My thoughts – start 8 bells from Edgie Maccas – 1st beer Lithgow 16 bells – see below, about 480k’s in total – 50% dirt – 50% tar
Any longer than 4pm could result in this
Squiggle & OFBM – hopefully the files work for you
Cant get GPX files to upload – HELP!!!
Linz

Called skyrider today, he is keen and pretty easy about how he gets there, Wookie is out and just waiting to hear back from Brownie. Since the bridle is out I am easy. Just add the GPX to a zip file and maybe it will upload a bit easier.
Had a look at the map today and looked at maybe heading out through howes valley as per OFMB and Kalgoola then into capetree from Glen Davies. From here you could do the morning run from the lithgow nav ride in reverse, heading up the hill from blackfellas hand. Probably about 250 ks from howes valley.

Ive not been through here but just putting it out there in case you blokes have. You could tar it from broke and enjoy the frantic bends of the putty for a bit of early morning racing
before hitting the dirt.
Or we can just follow you blokes, its not just a rumour, Im easy
Hey Squiggle
Looks to me like you have plotted the track across Wollemi National Park/Mt Coricudgy that I was talking about at the lookout last week ???
It has been closed for close to 20 yrs mate ,,,Only way around the top is the track Linz has plotted on the tar (Bylong Valley) and round to Kandos.
Or the Bells Line south route now that Mt Irvine has gone too :S
Limited options unfortunately …
If I was going, I would take Al`s option and grey gums café for a stop.
Sorry mate
Sorry Squiggs
I thought you guys were meaning a separate weekend ride to take on that route ??? My Bad
It would make a big weekend out of it that`s for sureCurrent reports and theories on the Bridal are not good to be honest.
Really glad I got to ride it once though, it is a cracker of a route, real pity it is closedA you were ,,,
Hey Squiggle & Plindz,
Keep this thread on topic please, otherwise you will have TB goin` all toxic onya :laugh:pm`s sent on the rockfall updates btw
james wrote:That’s unfortunate timing Eags :pinch: Catch you on the next oneWhat’s happened to page 1 TB
 That could have been me last night on the turps, I was reading the first page and could have bumped a button by mistake :S
Seeing TB is offline I will give him a call or try to restore it ,,
Sorry TR, Ace out, now me out !!!
Have to support the daughter mate, she has made auditions into the Marching Koalas and that sat is the first public performance she can attend on the Central Coast.
Then Sunday evening she is performing with them in a musical ensemble at the Opening Ceremony at the Special Olympics in Newcastle. That in itself is a once in a lifetime opportunity for herJust the Olympics was going to have me slabbing it from Woodstock to the car at Lithgow or somewhere to get home in time to take her to last rehearsal and early dropoff at the stadium, the saturday outing spoiled it good and proper !!!
Enjoy it guys , I`m sure it will be the “Best Ride Ever”
Oldfatbeerman wrote:Looking for a bed in Lithgow Friday night , one ….. without anyone else in it, anyone got a room booked with a bed spare and want to share the cost to ease the financial burden ?
Not too fussy as long as it is within walking distance to the GPS loading , beering drinking establishment .
Done deal Al, I will call them tomorrow
Unfortunately gents I am out for this trip , something has come up with the family that I have to attend.
Supporting the daughter`s music performances gets the priority this timeThe new KTM Newcastle shop is open from today,
I was walking past this arvo and ran into Sharpy & Harry out front admiring the new bling signage. They invited me in for a stickybeek even though they were already shut.Looks great, well laid out and there were some schmick looking bikes assembled & on display :woohoo:
I need to get back in there with more time for a browse now :laugh:MrSquiggle wrote:KatGirl wrote:Teza. When are you going to learn that being a little bit soft doesn’t cut it on Old Bulls. Eat some dirt, get a real adventure bike, step up to the bar and get a liver cleansing drink that makes you ride the next day.
Great pics and ride reports guys. Thanks for the laughs and see you on the next one
No worries Shane,
It was a bit of a thrown together ride in the end, a lot slower pace than you are used to but the main objectives were achieved I think…1. Get out on the bike
2. Campover at a pub
3. Have a few brews
4. Plenty of laughs
5. Great time with great peopleWe did all those and more
Have you got any decent footage from your helmet cam to share ??WOODDUCKS
I will be looking for that stand at the show though :silly:
G`Day Protty,
Change is as good as a holiday they reckon
Good luck with it mate, thanx for the ingoing support and hope to catch up with you soon.I will call in for sure next time I visit town (now that my sister lives at King Creek)
