Sorry to break it to ya Mal, but the Sherco is out  Was doing really well until a broken leg put an end to Casteau :(
Looks like old Cyril Despres is now unbeatable so early into the rally, which is no real surprise with Coma so far behind due to bike breakdowns again

    read here,
Pending validation by the race marshalls, Chilean rider Francisco Lopez Contardo (Aprilia) has won his second stage on home turf on the Dakar, his first stage victory of the year. With a time of 5h52’40, the man whose nickname is “Chaleco” arrived 1’30 ahead of Frenchman Cyril Despres (KTM) and 13’13 ahead of his countryman David Frétigné (Yamaha)… More importantly, this fifth stage was marked by the misfortunes of Frenchman David Casteu who had to withdraw after a bad fall and of Spaniard Marc Coma (KTM). Victim of a blown rear tire at km 376, the title holder lost almost 40’ today… In the overall standings, the coast is now clear for final victory for Despres who now has a 37’37 lead on Chile’s Lopez Contardo and a 44’01 lead over Portugal’s Helder Rodrigues (Yamaha)… As for Marc Coma, he is now 7th 1h16’55 behind the leader.

Well I did this run in the Cruiser with the family today & the Millfield Burgers were Schmicko ;)

Had a run out to Wollombi, stopped off at the Laguna Wine Bar for as Ice Cream & to see the “Wizzer of Aus” laying on the ground in a rusted heap   Ash was dissapointed about that !!!

We then took a run back thru Watagan Creek Rd and found it to be very dry, not too dusty just dry  Surprising with the amount of rainfall we have had since Xmas really!!!!

Saw only 1 KTM640 at the Pines while we had a drink, then pushed on back thru to Mt Faulk to home,,,,

Gave FlatRock lookout a miss today for the longer drive, would have been better on the bike though  ;)

Will definiely run this ride in the near future for anyone keen for a cruisy day out ;)

    Hey MeanArse, :P
I postponed it cause a better ride offer came up for Saturday with Dan & KylieD, we are riding to Wisemans Pub for lunch and back which is a 300+k trip for us :)

I decided that noone would probably be coming to Millfield anyway on short notice (except me & maybe KD, Dan was gonna be kid minding  )
SO saturday ride with both of them was an easy choice for me ;) 2.5 hr ride against a 5-6 hr ride  I`ll take the longer one :)

Mllfield ride will still be on later if you would like to drive up for the day mate
