There are some neat NX`s on Bikepoint at the moment, as I`m sure you have already seen mate
Good Luck with the search
Bastard
Sorry Mal, But it was inevitable once the race entered the Dunes
The crazy Frenchman Despres is now eating up all in his way!!!
Apparently the Sherco suffered overheating & battery problems (after stopping to help his mate and rival Marc Coma) :blush:see here,
The first sand dunes of the Dakar 2010 gave Cyril Despres the opportunity to take control of the rally on the stage leading to Fiambala. Before even leaving Argentina, on a relatively short stage, the race leaders were confronted with the hazards of sand. Over a distance of 182 kilometres, the Frenchman opened up a gap of 10’40’’ over Helder Rodrigues, 2nd in the special. The Portuguese rider has therefore placed himself as a legitimate pretender for the podium, especially with the rhythm at which mishaps are occurring. After the petrol problems of Francisco “Chaleco” Lopez and the false withdrawal of Frans Verhoeven, who eventually rejoined the race after several hours spent changing his engine, today it was the turn of Marc Coma and David Casteu to encounter problems. In fact, the title holder had a real struggle with his machine. Admittedly he started with the best time at CP1 (after 74 km), but his progression to the finishing line took a turn for the worse. He had to stop many times to calm a “spluttering” engine, losing 21 minutes on Despres, the new leader of the general standings. It never rains, it only pours, and this bad news for Coma came with the blow of losing his right-hand man on this 3rd stage. Jordi Viladoms, who was “celebrating” his 30th birthday today, fell heavily on the special. The Catalan was transported by helicopter to the bivouac for medical attention and was forced to abandon the race, his third withdrawal in four participations. David Casteu, who won the first special stage, was also forced to slow down, firstly, to avoid the engine of his Sherco overheating, then secondly to lend a hand to his rival and nonetheless friend Marc Coma. However, a battery failure temporarily stopped him from restarting afterwards! David Frétigné, who also faced difficulties on the second half of the stage, was also amongst the favourites who lost time: at the end of the stage to Fiambala, he is already several hours behind Despres.
Good on ya Mick
Hey Moose, it might be the Rums, but all those pics look the same to me

That GPS thingy seemed as though it did a great job of tracking our ride
you’ve done well as I have ridden with other people with GPS’s and they never work
C’mon up Mal
We have enough loops to spend a few days up here mate
Cheers
MurphI have a Garmin Map76 which works really well,,, only downfall is its size, being a bit larger than some of the more current units.
I have it mounted on the bike at the moment but it will be coming off again soonIt rarely drops satellites, even in the thickest of scrub & thats usually when it is in my pocket
I reckon Diddley Doo will hook up in a flash AB
He seems to do nothing else but ride
Have a good one
Sherco still goin` strong after Day 2, still holding outright lead Mal :woohoo:
Fretigne the Yamaha 450 rider is now taking it to the big guns again, he looks dangerous this year!!! He took the stage win for the day, & favourite Coma has been left out of the top 10 after copping a time penalty for speeding thru a village
22 seconds can be made up fairly easily by the likes of him though :dry:With the new restriction rule on the 690`s, the field is really more even now, the 450`s are apparently eating it up on the climbs where the 690`s are carrying the extra kilos,,,
Bring it on :woohoo:
Worth the wait or what ???
Great to see those pics of one very happy girl on Chrissy Day
She is very keen to get out there yesterday mate, wet wet wet was certainly the call of the day
Looks as though she took to it like, shall I say it,,, A Duck To Water
what else would ya expect with a big air specialist rider like KD for a mum:laugh: Thats why I posted it mate, so you could bathe in the GLORY of a podium finish
Well 1 anyway
He went really well apparently & in his interview said he planned to attack all rally
Plenty of ambition, he owns the team too :laugh:Is this some kind of conspiracy
So no other takers for this run yet ???
I am apparently taking a run from home up to Broke to meet the crew, then ride back for a beer here on the SaturdayBUMP
The ride will start at around 1-30pm sat arvo the 16th from the Macquarie Arms Hotel at Windsor (Cnr George & Thompson streets)
The plan is to travel up the Putty rd, across to Broke, over through Paynes Crossing to Wollombi Pub. Some refreshments and then towards Cessnock across Sandy creek rd, through Mulbring, over Mt Sugarloaf and into the Newcastle for the evening or somewhere around there .
