They look the goods Moto
The decals too I suppose (even for KTM)
Keep us in the loop with the mileage, as I think Bridgestones are usually pretty good on that front, grip may be another matter though
Cheers
Sad to see that a spectator has already been killed after an accident only 75ks into Stage 1 yesterday. He died in hospital overnight
He was in a group that was hit by a car, they were not in an allocated spectator zone which is unfortunate. Crazy as it sounds, it is a common occurrence sadlyCan`t imagine how a competitor would cope with that sort of incident
As for the 450`s, look how well Fretigne from France did last year on the WR 450
He enen ran about 700ks in one stage with little or no engine oil from memory :blink:I reckon the 450`s are the go, tight racing over that course & didtance, who would ever brlieve that to be possible ???????????
:woohoo:

Be careful though when you correct himMaybe the decision to go to 450’s will tighten the racing up which would be good, but imagine losing the whole thing by 3 seconds
Has either of you or anyone else seen the updates on SBS or whatever yet?
TB
Yeh, update was on SBS at 12 midday & again nightly at 6pm

Thanx for that Steven,,,,
I actually cut that from the Dakar siteAnd the ” means seconds si that makes the gaps soooo much bigger
Plenty of good racing to come, along with awsome navigational skills, which is what really counts in this race
MAL 5.1 will be chuffed that Frenchman Davis Casteau is currently leading the Dakar after stage 1 on his 450cc SHERCO
He is someone always full of surprises; like setting up his own team for instance, with French constructor Sherco, grabbing the opportunity thrown up by the switch over to 450cc for all the competitors in the bike race in the near future. David Casteu, often arbitrator in proceedings between Cyril Despres and Marc Coma, and 2nd in the Dakar in 2007 and 4th in 2009, has chosen to challenge his rivals on a newly designed and less powerful bike. The road is still long, but this bold decision has already been rewarded on the first special stage of the 2010 edition, in which the rider from Nice scored the day’s best time, 3″ ahead of Cyril Despres, and 12” in front of title holder Marc Coma. The gaps are small in light of what still awaits them, but this stage win is symbolically significant for brave David.
