james wrote:Thanks for the weekend guys and girl
. Although not the full compliment of riders all in all an enjoyable weekend out and about on the bikes.
I gotta say I am shattered, not from the riding but the laughing and lack of sleep   will have to rectify the camping situation before the up coming Nav ride
must get a mattress :pinch: and a sleeping bag I can fit into 😆
I had my suspicions about you Tryhard before this ride :silly: but the weekend confirmed it, you are a lunatic, classic
Well done and thanks to Kat and Eags for steering the ship,Mr squiggle for help with the chain and placement of your drink, bombs away   Wigster, :silly: for the tears for Toy Story story and yes the Farrier is a Farrier.
So all in all not such a big ride but one funny weekend bring on Nov 30 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Thanks heaps guys
James:laugh: Thanx for that reminder James,,,
The Cocky Shit in the Bourbon was a clanger shot
And the stories of hardcore DVD watching and keeping emotions in check ???  :woohoo:
Wigsters amazement when he realised that you were fair dinkum about the Farrier`s username and trade :laugh:Awsome weekend, albeit a short one, but it was great thanx mate
We setup camp across the road as we usually do when staying here.
Then James rolled in but had to down a beer or two before setting up camp wit hthe use of my spotlight
Dinner was ordered and consumed under candlelight and then followed by many more laughs, drinks, more laughs and laughs. I haven`t laughed so hard in at least 6 months
Last drinks were called so we retired to our dark, fireless camp (Fire Ban for obvious reasons) :S
After a while Joe decided to head home instead of sleeping on the playground softfall wrapped in a tarp he was borrowing from Kat :pinch:
There were quite a few cattle strewn along the roadsides on the way down, so it would have been an interesting ride back up Settlers Rd in the pitch black. Luckily enough, Joe hadn`t touched the Scotch,,,Morning dawned and it was nice to find a crisp cool morning, awesome for riding. It was discussed and decided that a dirt squirt back up to Laguna for coffee and raisin toast was the go 😆
Heading back up Settlers Rd
Back at the Convict Wall end
Wigster doing his Pumpkin Arms Man impersonation
Then it was a run around Boree Track loop to Finchley Trig Lookout
Squiggle was trying to work out if he could ride the Trumpy up instead of climbing the stairs
The stragglers
Kat aka MIS SHUTTERBUG 😆 :silly:
Damn camera never stopped the whole time !!!
The Crew
The skies were clear with no smoke haze for a change
The smoke from the Blue Mountains and Bilpin fires was visible (not sure how clear it is in the pics)So then we descended the mountain and headed the Yango Creek Rd route to slum it at Wollombi, it had been at least an hour since our last break and a drink ,,, We do it tough on ADV rides sometimes
There were bikes of all kinds as usual, as well as a parade of horses being ridden along the front of the pub at one point. We also noticed the Boys in Blue patrolling just up the Main St and we then passed one back towards Laguna checking speeds.
Wigster was keen for an early arvo finish, so headed back along George Down to home, James & Kat decided to follow Squiggle & I up Watagan Creek Rd before departing at the top to head back to the Latter A and Settlers Rd
Top of Watagan Creek Rd goodbyes. James hammered along all day
Squiggle & I then ripped backto the Pines and north until parting at the Y intersection so he could head out the top towards Paxton and I headed back down Mt Falk to the tar & home by 1.30pm
It was seriously dusty, so I sat just at the back of te Trumpy`s duststorm until the Y, then stopped to throw the last of my fuel bladder in and have a snake & a drink.Solitude in the Watagans,,, it was so peaceful :cheer:
Great outing guys,
Thanx for the company and tonnes of laughs to Kat, Mr.Squiggle, Wigster, James and Tryhard and special guest LOTSA !
Great to see you out & about mate :woohoo:Total of 320ks for my run
DONE & DUSTED,,, Literally
She was a bit of a thrown together ride in the end with the weeks events leading up to Saturday arvo for some guys,,,
But it all worked out in the end, 5 of us had a great time today and most of us are home already I`d sayReport and some pice to come later
Thanx to all for the great companyP.S. Lets keep the Celebrity guest a mystery until later on
 C`Mon Wiggy,,,
You can`t be serious , if you turn up to St Albans in that, I will throw it on the nearest fire (Even though I would have to ride to Bilpin to do it) :laugh:See you nutter this arvo , I`m gonna enjoy the trip down
First time on the bike for a whilemicknmeld wrote:Gotta love a well executed piss take.
Good find Mick !
It is actually a really very well executed pisstakeAce wrote:Did somebody mention beer???Leaning towards a goer at this stage. Probably head down later in the arvo.
Hopefully see you all there.
I will give you a call mate before I am ready to go and see if your keen for the original plan hey ?
Don`t worry Crash, I have been right off my normal drinking behaviours, there will be plenty for you
Sweet
I was probably going regardless mate , I need a ride so bad
Plan to leave here around 1.30ish
Some great footage there mate
Love the climb up the dune into the sun , Ari Vaatanen style (minus the hand blocking the sun)Look up Pikes Peak-Ari Vaatanen if you din`t get it
??? What say you guys ???
I am sitting here thinking a run to St Albans would be really good tomorrow.
Am considering the ride down, camp and ride back Sunday, even back by the highway tomorrow evening if I have too :whistle:Have been looking at the RFS maps and current fires, size of the burnt out areas of the past week and it looks like the treat has eased a lot.
What`s the conditions like down you way today and for the weekend JamesI saw a segment on tele last night about the ex multi millionaire bloke that lost his fortune in the stockmarket crash in the 80`s and took up residence on Restoration Island FNQ,,
Hate to say Murph, but he reminded me of you mate
Not in looks or age  He did have long hair thoughHe had similar views to you on crowds though and apparently even though he lost the court case to stop the Island being sold, the current owner is happy for him to stay on a caretaker until it sells. Even prompted any prosoective buyers/ developers to allow him to stay on in the future
Good Luck to him I say,, and his two dogs 😆
Well what a change today was !!!
Chilly this morning at 5 getting to work, had to drag out the jacket and it stayed on till near lunchtime (our shed is a cold ones at the best of times and having such huge doors on most sides, the wind blows thru from whichever direction)
Still pretty breezy now, but it has been a great day without the heat and smoke of the past week.
Forecast for the weekend is pretty much the sameI hope all those that have been experiencing the blistering heat , fires and skoke are also getting a rest
Ok,
Lets`s see the King`s new Tail Bling in all it`s glory
Show us the pics please ,,,I still reckon Barretts are the go and streets ahead on value for money against other brands
Plus Jason is a nice blokeThat`s a nice bit of Bling to ad to the new shop Ian
Should get some costomers in looking at those real soon I reckon, I think there could still be quite a few TM lovers in the area
Well today both a bit sad but also glad ,,
Got email advice that the bags and gear have been shipped without straps at all cause the old system is no longer in stock and no longer being made.
Good news is that the new universal system will be shipped as soon as they have some stockSort of a win win I guess , just can`t use the bags till the new straps arrive in the country
Yeah I know, but I will upgrade anyway when they are available.
Just a pity I spent the $$$ on the other type of strap kit for touratech gear, which is probably fine anywayCheers
