Cheers from the Eagle Clan
I agree with Ollie mate
WR 450`s are not built for the roadwork  Will go the distance, but will not like it too much at all I should think.Maybe you should but a Super Commuter
It does the road trips with ease
CushDrive Hub would be an expensive mod to allow road riding for sure
Hope this helps,,,
:woohoo: I agree with Dan,,,,
Excellent report, pics and vidsLooks to be a fun riding area out there too,,,

Quote:BTW do you reckon the new hangers helped you ride better and make the bike more enjoyable? Most definitely an improvement Mick
However I reckon I could get another 20mm riser to lift em a tad more
I felt a little bit hunched at the start of the day, it did improve throuh the ride, but I reckon a bit more will be the goAfter getting off of the 450 Kato I actually rode faster I reckon too, Gav actually got a shock at one point when he turned off & I overshot the corner before he stopped cause I was on his tail HOT :woohoo:
Cheers
 Thanx Guyz,
It was the best conditions I have seen in the Wattos in years (as far as no dust goes) settle TB settleAnd No Boulder,,, I don`t think a Pumpkin would be the go for me  No good for the commuting side of things
But I will say that I was impressed with the ride of Gav`s 450. It goes pretty hard & is real smooth to ride! The Barrett Pipe & header makes some wicked noise when the throttle is rolled on and I was surprised how well the bike handled
Gav has been at me for a while to have a ride, even so much that he offered it to me to take to LOUEE     :laugh:Now that I have ridden Kylies WR250R, Dan`s WR450, Units KLX450 & now Gav`s Kato 450EXC I have a better understanding of what I am missing out on as far as power & handling
I will have to be patient I suppose & behave myself
Cheers
Great report, good pics of the crew too mate, good job
Wish I could have been there yesterday
It looks to have been a blinder (even with the showers)
As you will probably see, I had a run down there today with GavB

They were terrific for a chat, super friendly & looking to get it known about the new license. OBT is now on their favourited list, thanx to some friendly chat from Me & Gav

A Kato 450 & the Super Commuter , That`s whatFlat Rock Lookout, a bit more pleasant than yesterday I think

Thanx Gav
Thats All Folks
After some recent bad times, I was instructed by my lovely wife to get out of the house for the day & hook up with someone for a quick ride !!! I didn`t need to be told twice, so after a quick phone call to a friend, the deal was struck late on Saturday evening.
I took the run down to Freemans and waited for GavB to arrive. From there we followed in most part the route of the recent Jurds Ride which found us in some slippery ruts for the first part, but once onto the main Fire Trails around Mt Faulk we found the trails to be in pristine conditions indeed. As reported by the crew on the Watto`s run with TW yesterday!! It was a massive change from the rutted dusty tracks that we encountered in the past few months.
We did some poking around on some trails both sides of the Main Road , just looking for old trails that he had used a few years back, and some that he wanted to link up, then ended up following Georges Rd down, down ,down over the rock faces & through the deep ruts to the bottom. We ended up out the bottom of the valley & once again followed the Jurds Route out to Millfield for some fuel & a Burger for lunch,,,,,
Awsome burgers there I can tell you & the old mate on the bowser recognised the OBT stickers & remembered the past time when 30 bikes fuelled up!!! He pleaded with us to make his job easy today !!!
BTW, the Millfield Garden Restaurant & General Store, now has a liquor license, so a brew can be had with your lunch if desired,,,,They welcomed OBT back anytime we like & will look after us with good food, beverages & fuel if required in the future…We then hooked back into the scrub on some more of the Jurds route and headed back up into the Wattos, this is where GavB gave me a blat on his 450, and it was a blast chasing him on the Super Commuter, funniest thing I have done in a long time
:woohoo:
After a quick rest at Flat Rock Lookout it was on again through some sweet trails that flowed nicely, some little greasy sections here & there, but in general just a fun dust free ride.We had a run down Bowmans Rd as well as some other trails that the crew would have been on yesterday, but today it was like virgin trails, not a sign of other bikes at all. Actually only saw 4 dudes together on Georges Rd that passed us & that was it for the day except for a couple of cars,,,
We came back out on Mt Faulk Rd, doing some of the little criss cross singles on the way down the mountain & said our farewells at the bottom for the run home. All up we clocked 130ks on the loop from Freemans back to Mt Faulk turnoff, and I did about 200 for the day in total.
Gav will be able to elaborate on the Trails we used, as I was merely following having a good time & not really having a clue where we were most of the way, I was just happy to be out, NOT drop the bike once all day :cheer: & finish a ride AGAIN !!!
You are too good
I am working on a little report as we speakso be patient & leave it where it is for now
More pics to come this evening too!!!Cheers
