    :woohoo: Where do I start???
Probably the best OBT Trip I have attended I reckon (sorry TB), but Boony & Bollocks have certainly raised the bar on ride quality & quantity !!!

We were treated to a top two days of riding some of the most spectacular landscape I have ever seen, apart from the glimpse I got at Easter when I first had the thought of getting the OBT Crew up there to sample the trails,,,
The weather Gods were shining on us I can tell you, as we had a cloud free, sapphire blue sky and temp at a beautiful 18-20 degrees, perfect for roosting the single trails!!!

Sat morning we had a Bacon & Eggs starter before a little briefing of what to expect for the day, then it was open slather from the moment we departed the Caravan Park (after we de- iced the trust steeds)
As soon as we hit the dirt the hoots and hollers could be heard from all directions, as the boyz & Kylie cut sick on the awesome lush tracks,,,

There was a bit of everything, long undulating Fire Trail, twisty off cambered corners, sweet Single Trail through the Dark Forest(watch out for the Bears in There), fast flowing rocky bottomed creek crossings, long rutted deep wet puddles, small logs littering the trail in various locations and at difficult angles to negotiate and some rather large fallen trees with small strategically cut ramp overs to climb up over!!! Everything a good Trail Ride craves!!!

Some of the sections were slimed up with the famous Red Nundle Clay, which made for some sweaty hands & quick thinking when coming up on a corner at speed, then spotting the clay (or not spotting it quick enough on some occasions)
There was also the odd sharp rock littered sections and some loose boulders here & there, How good were they to get around or over as well as trying to maintain your line ???
Did I mention the climbs?? There were plenty of those, some hard & fast, some slow & snotty, some rocky and loose and some just an absolute damn handful to keep momentum and line together as one !!!

Then there was the infamous and appropriately named PARACHUTE HILL,,, a difficult descent that fell down into a lush valley, it seemed to go on forever with off camber hairpins, big boulders rolling around and some drops off the edge that would scare the pants off of any mere mortal!

Lunch at the Berry Patch was top class to say the least, where else can you ride all morning ,then rock up for a hearty BBQ lunch & Berry Ice cream & Tea or Coffee??? All with a big smile too,,,

Sat night was a hearty meal at the Peel Inn and a few ice cold ales,,, followed by a laugh a minute night of stories from the SuperUnit roung the campfire!!!

Sunday morning was Bollock`s turn to show us round, and he did that well! He led us to a working Gold Mine in the forest somewhere, Hanging Rock Lookout, and on to Sheba Dam for a slap bang True Blue Aussie morning Tea (Tea/coffee with Lamingtons & Anzac Bikkies) Thanx again Boll!!!

Then it was off to the private property of a local lady he knows, it was an blast riding down through there dodging the Cow Pats & Wombat holes. How good was the little easy looking climb out of the creekbed that caught out no less than four bikes at the same time all within 10 metres of each other,,, Then Kylie D rides straight up at the tail of the pack & shows all of us up!!!

After some searching for the way out after some massive trees blocked our way, we finally got to the Trout Farm for the Guided Tour. It was vert interesting indeed, so many Trout bred in the tanks & ponds on that property. Awsome spot in the middle of nowhere, 500 acres of untouched mountain catchment.

It was then a blast back down the road to the park to pack up & depart, What a shame that was!!!:(

That was about it in a nutshell, So many good moments, and there will be more and more stories to be told this coming week.
Awsome ride, fantastic crew to ride with, terrific scenery with perfect weather to match.
Cheers Boony, Bollocks & the Tamwoth Crew, you did OBT proud & made ue welcome in your territory. I`m sure you are all welcome down our way anytime to hopefully repay the favours ;) ,,,

Cheers All, I`m off to bed now.

I didn’t expect any takers anyway. I have a better chance joining a OBT ride than leading one at this stage here.

    Axel

You will get takers, its the only way people meet is to step out of the comfort zone. Biggest prob with the ride is the date as there is so much already on which is :( and

    TB

TB is right Axel, Go ahead anytime mate & organise a ride;)
We here at OBT don`t care if you are a Newbie, anyone can start & lead a ride, that`s what this site is all about (meeting new people & riding with like minded dudes that love trailriding):cheer:

This week is already jam packed with going`s on ,that`s all:woohoo:

Look forward to seeing ya out there mate;)

Will have to maybe do a camping one and do a Sunday ride. You probably would have got bored with my pace anyway Robo67  .

As TB says regularly on our rides,,,
The fastest rides on the day is the leader (only he knows the way!!!)
and the slowest rider is the one laying on the trail, waiting for the chopper

Always ride at your own pace & within your comfort zone !!! ;)

Lotsa and I are interested in the ride. Thinking of coming down on Sat. and staying o’night. Any suggestions as to a Pub etc to stay Sat. night. Anyone else pubbing it?

    Mickp

Hampton Pub on Jenolan Caves road was where we stayed on the Anniversary Caves To Caves ride, it was good.
Has a bunkhouse or separate rooms too !!!

I`m not sure if this is applicable to the ride starting poijnt that DrD has in mind ???
    Just a suggestion;)
