Puddles, nobody has asked anyone to post anything about Hillend. People have posted what they want up there. They have had a good time and having attended the ride see the amount of effort that goes into it so some feel to say a thank you to TB (or whoever organises the ride) is common courtesy. You don’t HAVE to do this.

I have to agree with this whole heartedly:) I am totally new to this sport, only having been on the bike since Oct 08,,, I am clearly not in the position to be able to organise a ride that would suit 80 percent of OBT members.
I thoroughly enjoyed the times I have spent with the OBT crew (XmasParty & Hill End) & I certainly felt the need to thank TB as well as the rest of the crew for a great time last week. Without OBT I certainly would not have EVER considered taking on that ride!!!!
Not once have I felt any pressure from anybody to give praise or thanks, each & everyone of the guys & gals I have met so far have all but bent over backwards to be of assistance no matter what the circumstances were:) :)
I myself have offered my services as support driver with my cruiser on the Denman ride, so that others that did so at HillEnd can enjoy a ride on a bike rather than in a car (without AC etc) I certainly would like to do the ride as well, but this one I am happy to drive, help out where I can & still I will get to enjoy the company of some great people:) :) :)

On the capping of numbers,,, I have been involved in many 4×4 trips over the years (slightly different than bikes, I agree) but I personally have seen trips where a reduction in numbers could have made the event a lot quicker, run smoother, less traumatic & generally more enjoyable. It is regrettable that some people sometimes may miss out, Never good to be that person ot people, but theres always the next ride coming up ,,,,,,,:) :) :)

Sorry to see that you are feeling off about some issues at the moment:(
Hope things can be worked out mate, hopefully we will meet on a future OBT ride;)

Just my 2 cents worth guys

I`m no expert TB, but would have to think that regular checking/repacking can only be a good thing for the wearable parts,,,,,
How many times do ya see caravans, boat trailers, box trailers etc on the side of the road, broken down packed to the hilt on their way to a holiday destination etc:blush:
If they checked their bearings, this would be avoided HEY:) :)
    Cheers
