Lefty wrote:Just got off the phone to TB they are all at the corner after a big day and having a couple of cleansing ale’s.
TB mentioned that they came down through Walkers Crossing from Birdsville and reckons it was one of the best tracks that he has ridden on an ADV bike :woohoo: Another one that will get added to the bucket listStay upright gents and enjoy the remainder of your Adventure!
Cheers,
LeftPS; Thanks for the call Eags
No worries Lefty,
I was monitoring all day again but as I said on the phone, I was in a prick of a location away from my pc all day and can`t login from my phone :dry:Ace & Strucky mad it to the Corner before midday and TB & co were not that far off just before the Spot site went into maintenance :pinch: As described on the Spot site, all SOS emergency calls will still operate in maintenance mode, just not the tracking functions etc
I like the idea of the Flytrace backup, there is also another one callled Spotwalla that is also free and tracks well. Maybe we should utilise these in future
I just got home from work, taht`s why I called you this arvo mate
My next couple of days will e just as busy, so not much updating from me,,, but, I WILL BE WATCHING THEM HOURLY !!!!Cheers
Well you have come to the right place Ron
You will love it mate and meet heaps of like minded dudes and dudettes on here
The June ride will be a cracker and it is getting real up there on the capacity of riders this one ,,,Wigster will be there on his Tiger, and he rode with me & Ace on the last two 2 Day Nav Rides, so you will be fine mate …
Cheers

Actually goin` to visit a mate in hospital that broke his hip on sat  (non bike related) it was a workplace injury ,,,,I don`t agree,,,
Those pics are Killin` Me
Fark I hate work !!!! Even more now 😆
I have received plenty of OK messages
They were doing the Dig Tree and a few other things today, so that may be the in and out backtracking a bit  There was only just over 400k on the route planned today anyway, so time for a bit of sightseeing maybe..I actually have been flat stick at work today and only looked on the I Pad every couple of hours to check progress, plenty of OK messages mean all good though
They are booked in at Innamincka Hotel for tonite , lets see if they can make that before dark !!!!
Works a treat Lefty
Because the light has so many options and comes apart from the headstrap mount, it simply clips onto the back edge of the helmet peak and can still be adjusted up & down from there.
The battery pack has the same clip to attach to camelback straps or similar and also has a handy extension lead to lengthen the distance from light to batteries. Will test it out one day in the scrub maybe,, but hopefuly have no need to,, It is only an idea for an emergency option anyway
YEAH !!!
What they said
Details please mateAwayonmybike wrote:Hallo all,Just been introduced to the site by a friend who told me about the upcoming two day Nav ride – sounds fun so I’m signing up for that if there is space still available.
I ride an old KLR650 which whilst not pretty is reliable and gets most places – and has the advantage that when it falls down (which seems a bit too often sometimes) it doesn’t lose any value however hard it hits the ground. Often ride by myself or with one of my sons in the Watagans – nothing too tough and try and avoid too much mud. Looking forward to a few rides in company in the future.
G`Day mate,
Sounds like you may be a local to the Hunter area ???
I am in Lake Macquarie, as are a few other members on here.
I often cruise around and thru the Watagans area and up to Wollombi & Yengo etcKeep your eyes peeled and hook up for a ride. I will be givin the next nav ride a miss due to other commitments, but will catch you on maybe the following couple if you are interested in them
After doing one, I`m sure you will be hooked
Cheers
I feel a bit concerned about whatever is going on on the Odnadatta
Philth, Will S and Blindpilot are separated by a long way,, Philth has apparently moved stuff all in 6 hrs and there is a spot message out from one of the Joes asking for asistance :dry:There are guys from ADV onto it obviously, They are all a long way from Birdsville though ,,,
Fingers crossed for them all.
They are experienced operators and at least the other spots have not been used as an SOS.More non OBT news,,,
A few guys including Philth are in trouble on OOdnadatta track it seems.
Philth is suspected to be maybe even walking !!!One of the Joes has messaged for assistance (non life threatening) but wants someone to get out there as soon as possible
ADV guys are rallying to assist now,,,
Hope all works out ok :SNice little sneak out James…
You can always trust Lotsa & Gav to sniff out a latte and a feed
Ez looks more at home on that 1200 than on the 950 actually,, especially in his latte machine riding gear (looked out of place on the Kato)Cheers
Arrived safe at Thagomindah 5.08pm…
Earliest finish so far
Well done Ace & Strucky
singletrackmind wrote:EAGLE`02 wrote:Well Ace & Strucky made the left turn off route that TB mentioned last night.
Not sure what that will do to their arrival time tonite, but I`m thinking it will be a late one :laugh:Maybe even a campout in the desert somewhere looking at the direction of the track they are following 😆
Damn, It`s boring sitting at home watching this unfold !!!
Looks like you are spending as much time following this as you would riding it Eags
STM
Sitting in this arvo watching V8`s at Barbagello,, so this is getting plenty of atention too
