They are travrlling ok,
Heading towards the Rd to ThargoDamn, These Spot Trackers are a good thing hey ????
Nice pics so far btw, thanx….
Well Ace & Strucky made the left turn off route that TB mentioned last night.
Not sure what that will do to their arrival time tonite, but I`m thinking it will be a late one :laugh:Maybe even a campout in the desert somewhere looking at the direction of the track they are following 😆
Damn, It`s boring sitting at home watching this unfold !!!
The weather is unfavourable out there I see Pete
Bastards,,, It`s windy as hell and cold at home mate :pinch:
CheersMessage is in from Team TB,,
“Finished riding for the day, all good and am in one piece. Looking for a feed, Bundy and a lay down“
Big arvo and night ahead I reckon 😆
Yeah G`Day Rob,,
DR650 are reliable old workhorses for sure
As far as the GPS goes,, hard to go past Garmin 60CSX or the newer 62S for mid price range, great mapping and routing capabilities and tough as nails.Or you can go the top end ZUMO or OREGON series which are more like the car units with Bluetooth etc ans wider screens.
However, the Zumo`s have not shown to be as reliable as the good old CSX`s for offroad and desert running :whistle:They all run Aus/NZ TOPO maps real well or you can make do with free maps from “SHONKY MAPS” that run on the standard Garmin , depends on how much detail you need for trips you plan. Shonky is suprisingly detailed actually and a lot of guys use it on here as a backup for Aus Topo
TB has them all  He is a GPS hoarder
He is out at Birdsville and beyond till next sunday, but will chime in with good advice on the units and mapping options when he gets back for sure
TB, CRASH & PTW have hit Birdsville right on schedule
ACE & STRUCKY have had an early lunch in Bourke and are now headed NW to Thargo
All good so far today
The other 3 Amigos will be in Birdsville early today, they are smashing out the k`s this morning…
Another long session coming up at Birdsville maybe
Or there was talk of heading out into the Simpson for a bit until time to turn back to make the do for Tugboat on Big Red on mondayOne thing for sure,, there will be a massive crowd on the dune for that , Tugboat Bill was quite a charmer in his own right and has touched many people through his adventures with Philth and Co
Many have never met the man, but still the fact that they are travelling so far for this shows just how much respect he gained from them wide & far,,,“RIP TUGBOAT”
Bourke and finishing at Thargomindah mate,,
Decent progress so far this morning,,, making hay while the sun shines
The Pig was a massive wakeup call yesterday :SI am in and out today, but will be watching from my phone where I can
Cheers
You TB are the only bloke I know that has 5 plans all on the go at once
Ace & Strucky made a slightly earlier start today,,, 7.00am,,, better than 8.30
Will still be a huge day for the boysStay tuned !!!
Surely if Quads can do it a Ten or DR650 will shit it in
Pretty sure I`ve seen quads and all sorts of bike in Trailzone vids of the Nort Star weekend
All good,,
They are safe at Lightning Ridge Golf Club,no doubt having a beer. Have been spoilt rotten by the locals :cheer:
Message through about Turnoff out of Hungerford from TB
They now have a good understanding why the locals stay off the roads from dusk on :blink:I will let ACE tell the rest of the story in his own words,, but I can tell you that Strucky was damn relieved !!!!
Until tomorrow,,,
This is Eags ,OVER & OUT :laugh:Tomorrow will test them Left
They had a big close call this arvo with some wildlife late in the arvo :blink:All good mate,,,
I will make sure they knowHere`s a teaser of what Ace & Strucky walked (or rode into) this evening
