Mmmmm, the Japanese way of business, yes. I hadn’t thought of the repeat business thing. Bet they got a shock that not only are Aussies getting the bikes are the cheapest price, they are buying their tyres at *gasp* tyre dealers instead of the local bike shop!

I tried to be loyal to one dealer around here… took him 3 weeks to decide that he couldn’t get me a seat cover for the DRZ(!). I got the shits, took the seat to the upholsterer around the corner and it was done by the next afternoon. Loyalty gone.

Actually, it should also be said that I have changed where I shop to another centre and get bike stuff there instead – so I guess really it is loyalty shifted!

Bugger eh? I really liked that Maxxis, it held on and didn’t wear much. They would be able to sell thousands of them if they got their shit together!

I’ll check out the Pirelli once the current rear bites the dust!

Oh, and what is it with OEM tyres? The ones on the DRZ were shit! I’d heard bad things about the Yamaha ones too so I pissed them off before I even rode the bike!

That’s ridiculous! What’s the point of a tyre that can’t get wet?? (Not that we get a lot of that around here I must admit!)

I’m interested in the Pirelli’s as well. My pick of tyres to date is a Maxxis intermediate rear. At the moment I’m on a Dunlop intermediate – we’ll see how it goes, but it looks like wear is going to be an issue.

Nice one Husky! I was in that boat a couple of months ago and a mate brought me along for a ride with them on his spare TTR250. I had an absolute ball!! I even got a ride on a KTM250EXC (2-stroke) for shits and giggles! So you see, I’m not a KTM snob at all really, I just bag them out a lot!

Pays to have good mates doens’t it!

Are you calling your wife a tool?????

Two categories but if you can’t decide within a category, list more than one! (See, I love making the rules up as I go!)

To be totally honest the KTM’s are a good bike if that’s what you want. They are fast, they handle, they are light, they look contemporary (which to me is not a positive, but that’s me). On the other hand they do take a lot of looking after compared to, say, a WR or DRZ. That’s the tradeoff for a “race” bike I suppose.

But any chance I get I’ll be taking the piss out of them – because most KTM owners bite so very well!!

Well I’ll say this for the banana: Its not a bloody KTM!

Would it make you feel better to know that I too once had a KTM? ’99 KTM640 with motard wheels and real wheels.. what an experience! Live and learn I say!

Holy cow, you’re not kidding when you say there’s not much room left!

Welcome to Old Bull mate! I’m sure someone responsible will be along shortly to say G’day. In the meantime moto will most likely flap his gums at you in a new-age intramanet way!

Where are you and what’s your life story? ;)

Husky, I wasn’t picking on the spelling, man! More picking on moto for not getting it! I’m sure now he knows he is kicking himself for not seeing the bleeding obvious – which was meant to be the point of my post! Sorry if I upset you!

On topic, I reckon the KTM’s of the last few years are puke-worthy in the looks department. Where’s the puke smiley!

Nothing personal moto, just hate the look of them is all!

I reckon Jaws 7/10, because Popeye is a mean little bastard when he’s drunk!

What about Popeye? He’s got the arms for it, surely! All he’d need is a can of spinach! But other than Popeye and Jaws, nobody else could do it!

Good point. I’ve also seen a doco saying we are overdue for a change in poles – as in north and south poles swapping. This causes global warming and cooling, erratic weather etc etc… recognise those symptoms??

Actually I think the calendar being wrong is the most likely option! ;)
