I think you should have two post counts – one for worthwhile posts that contribute to the greater good and one for dribble. Naturally the dribble posts wouldn’t count. If you do that, moto ends up with what, 3 posts? Sounds like a great system to me!

(Say Mr Pot in reference to Mr Kettle!)

Welcome to the site Oh Yankely One!

Hope you can take plenty of good-natured playing silly-buggers! Bring on the ride reports from your neck of the woods… Oh, and to stop TB hassling you, you’d better put up some info about the BRP!

Ok, you’ve asked for it. Time to bring out the ol’logic jokes!

Why did the koala fall out of the tree?

    It was dead.

Why did the kangaroo fall down?

It got hit by a falling koala.

What is brown and green, has 6 legs and if it fell out of a tree on top of you it would kill you?

    A pool table.

What is yellow and can’t swim?

A bulldozer. (Perhaps equally relevant here would be a DRZ!)

I think the quick release gizmo on a bashplate is a gimmick. Bashplates should be tough and able to withstand a “bashing” If you race and may need ultra quick access to the belly of your engine, maybe:dry: but for us trailriders that have kids and a mortgage I think I would prefer something tough and industrial like the whipps or B&B (cant comment on force as I have not seen one)I have seen more than 1 of those plastic KTM plates in the bush moto’s being one of them. The hyde protector I am using on the gasser is very good although can be slow to remove when you have to,I like the way it also protects the expansion chamber and waterpump.

    Just my Opinion

Hmmm… the pics in my first post are a KTM with a plastic Hyde bashplate on… needless to say he now has an alloy version! He swore by his too… until the rock flipped up from the front wheel and punched a hole in the ignition cover by flexing the plastic bashplate. Then he just swore AT it! Not trying to be a negative sod but thought you might like to know!

    Thanks TB! :)

Well they did win the ‘Precious’ award from Tom at TBAM I think…. somehow that fitted really! Thank goodness you blokes are realistic about these things! I think it is the Victorian influence, actually you could almost narrow that down to just Melbourne I’d say.

All the DBW’ers I have actually met are top blokes so far.

I’d be OK with either Louee or Biketerritory (http://www.biketerritory.com.au/index.htm). Having been to both I think that Louee will suit families better because of the proximity to Mudgee and the wineries – in so saying I just don’t know what IS around near biketerritory so there could be all sorts of goodies there.

In terms of riding, the trails (not motocross tracks) at Louee are seriously whooped out and getting fairly flogged now, and don’t really receive any attention to fix that. Biketerritory has more trails and offers different things to Louee – like an endurocross track. They also have accomodation and motocross track, grass track so on and so forth. Blue (the owner) tends to take groups in led rides with lead rider and sweep rather than sending people out with a map and wishing them all the best. It is fantastic country, with amazing scenery and some whopping hills. The downside is that it is a fair bit further from Sydney for those folks coming from that direction.

I did a ride report last year on DBW – http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42880 if anyone is interested. I haven’t made it back there yet, but plan to do so this year.

Would Narrabri/Inverell be an option? Biketerritory is up that way and caters for our kind of crowd. Otherwise I would say that Louee is the best compromise at the moment. Mrs ECKS would love to meet up with some of my interweb biking friends – hell, I’d like to meet some of them myself! 😆

I have seen those pictures somewhere else, anyways, I like whipps products but having said that I was impressed with the job the plastic one on the project DRZ when Chopper tried to bulldoze a large rock, it protected the water pump real well.

Chris has a force on his bike but not through choice the shop just fitted it for him, it looks ok. The one bolt thing worries me as there is only one retainer to stop it swinging down which could cause a nasty little incident!

    Just my thoughts

    TB

Hehehe! Those pics have seen several showings at DBW, one at the biketerritory forum and now in TBAM! Tom was keen to put it in the mag, I just sent it to him for a laugh!

Hmmm food for thought. I’ve not seen a whipps fitted – might have to investigate. The Force does look to go about as high as your Whipps, as does the massey fergusson, oops, sorry, I mean B&B! (Rude bloke you are!) Actually from the pics on the website it looks like the B&B is a bit more sleek than the Force but pictures make it hard to show the 3D curves of these things. Might just have to do a bit of legwork.

    Thanks all for your input!B)

Hate to think what this means for Gas Gas riders though! (The rock hard seat thing… dunno how they will deal with the analgangbang.com thing!)

This is a bit embarrassing what with the bad timing and all but I’ve just got off the phone from the owners at analgangbang.com and they are going to have to let me go. Apparently my ‘vigorous’ approach to the group product tests has most of the fellow members requiring a short respite for the next couple of months or so.

They also said that my toys were too blinged out for amateur use and and I need to go to the pro circuit to really get best use out of them.

The thing that hurt me the most was the fact that they said my name wasn’t wasn’t really Hugh Janus. It was my stage name from my days in porn, oh well, I’ll just have to get out of the game and come back to Old Bulls cap in hand.

Thank you for your support guys,

    Cheers,

    Hugh J. Hole

Gee, that’s bad luck for you Moto! Did they work out that your real name is actually Ben Dover? Still, I’m sure you can put your toys to good use in the privacy of the Kings Cross nightclubs!

We’ll miss your sparkling repatee moto, I hope you get ahead at analgangbang.com (if that’s what floats your boat!) and drop in here now and again! If you don’t get ahead, just make sure you’re giving ahead and you’ll get along fine!
