Hey Bones! Yep, somc top roads in this area for road bikes (good onya Axel!) like mine! Planning a good ride at the moment… it MUST be good, there is Gelato involved!
Cheers guys, it was a top ride, and something different to the WR250F I’ve just stepped off! I’m not particularly quick but now that I’m starting to get the feel for the bike I’m confident things will fall in to place!
Glad you enjoyed the write-up!
Ecks
Valves?
micknmeld wrote:Bloody criminal!!! All those iconic old Aussie utes just going to ruin! You hit the nail on the head mate. I’m sure he’d sell them, in fact he said on of the FB’s was being sold … for $50!
Well I had an interesting day yesterday, on a farm south of Wello, up in the hills. I swear this bloke has NEVER thrown anything away, just buys stuff, uses it till it’s stuffed and parks it on the farm somewhere!
In his shed was a matching pair of “Yamaha 500’s” – “…yeah, there’s a bit of an electrical problem with that one…”
Now we go off the bike topic a bit, but you’ll be interested I’m sure! Up a goat track and over the hill, he had a stash of machinery that would make you cry:
A lineup of utes, 2 x Holden FB’s (?), an EK (?) and an Austin.
Hiding up the back was a “Fargo” truck – or what’s left of it, an Inter truck, several old tractors and a Series 1 (?) Land Rover:
Yeah not all diesel is the same. Woolworths fuel in Wellington is so bad we closed our star card (caltex) account and went to BP. The woolies fuel reduced fuel efficiency from averaging 10l/100km to 12 or 13l/100km. Shocking. Only seems to be that specific servo, but thats the only caltex in town now, so BP gets our money. This has been checked on three vehicles, diesels, can’t speak about petrol.
Sent from my phone using fat fingers!
SOLD – to Boony’s mate Bill.
Cheers!
Price drop, no point this bike sitting on my shed, time to move on. I challenge anyone to find a better WR250F for the money!
Bump – c’mon bargain hunters, don’t forget the 12 months rego on this thing!
Mr Blue wrote:Blow it up and I’ll buy the rolling Chassis Eric……:whistle:Oh Ouch!! With the money you’ve saved over the years by riding two strokes Bruce, you could afford to buy it, sell the donk and shoehorn in the engine of choice!
Mr Blue wrote:Bullpitt gloves, have 5 sets across the family now, best value for money and tough as old nails in hardwood+1
Best gloves I’ve ever worn on a bike. Great stuff.
Cheers Axel, I hope someone sees the value in it!
I also saw one just like it on the ADV forum, coincidence? Perhaps!
I think there was/is a mob in Cairns who were converting the M model to dirt and flogging them in TBAM etc. Not expensive from memory. No idea how they stack up to a ‘proper’ XR400 in the dirt though.
Oh, and…
