Quote:Did he just throw a rope around a spinning helicopter tail rotor and rip it of by hand while sitting on a motorbike :ohmy:Yup! Hey, it’s MacGuyver! He can do anything! Don’t get me started on the episode with the killer ants!
Love how he backs it in to the hairpin! Bloody amazing riding! Might just be a scooter, but if he hit that rock wall it would still sting a bit!
How about McGuyver, he had an episode riding a (from memory) XL250 that sounded for all the world like a 2-banger!
Ah, McGuyver, was there anything he couldn’t fix with a swiss army knife, a 50-cent piece and some baling twine?
Edit: Here ’tis:
Holy Hell!!!
Riding motocrossers over fixed timber ramps with no down ramp, bugger-all body armour, those dodgy dividers between the jumps, up stairs, through the crowd! Never see that today! Awesome stuff!
Anyone have a date for this? I’m guessing late 80’s maybe early 90’s?
I’d be checking the kill switch. I believe they have a reputation for failing due to water ingress (fancy word eh?!?) and corrosion. Probably one of the cheapest parts to replace as well, if that is the problem.
Sending some more water your way now actually… well, indirectly of course!
We had 4 inches of rain in an hour last week! That’d be enough to stuff ANY kill switch!

Nice work Axel. Maybe you can start a thread of weight saving performance gains? On topic, I tried pivot pegs and decided that, while they do work, I’d rather pivot on the soles of my boots and have a solid peg under my feet. They are not for everyone.

Quote:Man I was so going to bag you out if this was your bike for sale. Then I remembered you only had a 250 anyway.“ONLY” a 250… yeah, gee I miss those nice heavy 450’s when I’m playing in the rocks on my 250!
If you lower your budget for the bike to, say, $3500 to $4500 you will have left-over money for gear and the first year’s rego. You’d still get a decent bike for that kind of dollars. That’s my advice anyhow.
Welcome to OBT, hope your riding becomes an obsession!

Ben Grabham, 2009 Australasian Safari.I’m about to go the iphone (or similar) option because you can get a terminal server app that allows you to access your PC from your phone. At the moment I have a Palm Tungsten organiser which is about 6 years old. Still works but it would be much better to have a termserver option.
Sad to say mate, I think you’ll have to make the leap to one of the new generation phones to get the best use from it.
Logs, that’s something I have to work on… but I’ll never be able to take on a log like that one! Jeebus!
Thanks for posting Mick, great sequence! Would be better with a better camera obviously!
I use a steel rule to get mine even each side. The snail cams did have that problem of either being too tight or too loose and if you stuck them in backwards they would hit an obstacle and spin loose during a ride! Still a PITA to get the adjusting bolts right though. I’m sure some bright spark in the future will come up with a better solution, probably with the generalisation of the electric motor? Although at the moment they are also chain driven. Dunno, maybe lightweight super torquey electric wheel motors will come in and do away with chains altogether!
Have to comment on dealing with Sutto’s – why wouldn’t you do it? Priced tyre + tube from them and it is still cheaper from Sutto’s than buying what I want locally (if I can even get it here!).
I didn’t go the scorpion tyre, but that’s beside the point.
Thanks Sutto’s, I’ll be back too!
Cheers,
ECKS
