Love it Scotty, looks tops! Great buy! Man, that banana will be fast now! Look how streamlined it is!
Just an update on the ongoing saga that is ECKS-Man and his goggles…
I have tried the Scott twin-lens and to be honest I don’t find them any better than the Scott Anti-fog lens. The problem is that I get quite hot when I ride, and in slow conditions there is not enough air flow to keep the condensation away from the goggle lens, and if I get hot enough and the going is slow enough, then my glasses go too.
I also found with the twin lens system that there is a fairly thick border around the edge of the lens where the two lenses join. Add that to the OTG goggles and it noticeable restricts the field of vision.
So no beers for Rat, sorry dude!
And I’m still searching for the solution. Its a bugger being half-blind!
Next, I’m off to my optometrist to see if there is a spray or coating for anti-glare glasses lenses to stop fogging. Surely someone somewhere has this sorted out!

I know you are a fan from the last time you tried it though Chris, that said I don’t care that you like it, please change it backI agree with the avatar location actually Chris. Stick it back on the left please. I love the rest, AND …

I new have a link to the latest post in a thread – that works!!! Cheering!!
Lucky indeed Moto, scary stuff! Show us some pics of the offending trailer and your modifications to fix it!
I agree 100% with Bruce. I use my straps on my bike and don’t trust a strap I have not paid for and looked after myself.
Ancra is the best brand by far. I have Aerpro and some other brand sitting around as spares – and hope I don’t have to use them. No-name brand straps should be used for walking the dog and nothing more. And ALWAYS carry spare tie downs.
I must admit that when I have my bike on the back of the ute, loaded in diagonally, I don’t strap the rear wheel, but that is the only time. In my defence, the bike sits in tightly and will stand there with no ties on it because it is jammed in. Otherwise the rear is strapped as well. On a long trip I will also add a rope to the front straps, just as a backup.

Boy am I stuffed. What a bloody ball tearer of a day tho!!!!!!!!!!
Up at sparrows Sun morning off to some Goanna track near Coona for a day on the ponies. About 5 kms from the track I could feel that the Lux had decided to expel a large amount of air from the rear passenger tyre. There was no way in hell i was going to stop and have a look because I knew there was still plenty of air in the top of the tyre, it was that buggered anyway, so…as long as I got to the track I would be ok…even if I was down to the rim so be it…(plus my Jack was stuffed and I had race fever biting my arse and everything went out the window).
Got to meet Ecks Man and White Rocket and discovered that they were champion blokes!!!As Boony has said, we had a choice little bit of prime real-estate next to the shitters which came in very handy for the pre race nervous wees. Got a bit on the nose by the end of the day. Started to smell like the Camel Cup in Bagdad.
Warm up lap is my favorite because it is usually the only time I get to overtake people. But, true to form I had a little whoopsa daisy in a gully and ended up bogged to the swing arm. Looking over my shoulder I could see a nice little traffic jam starting to form up behind me. Little bit of help????After about 20 scumbags roosted me in the mud, a good Samaritan helped me out, God bless his cotton socks.
Back to the pitts to see that the Boonmister had arrived dressed like the paparazzi armed with a plenty flash camera. Mrs. Boon was there plus a few little Boonites. Steve and Pep had a cracker of a tent put up and we really did look like we knew what we were doing. We were the Old Bulls Factory racing team!!
RACE TIME !!!! :woohoo:
Took off like a scalded cat and was about mid field at the first corner, went wide and I was back in my familiar position…sweep. Lunch was not needed as a kilo of dirt was consumed. Pulled up after my first lap to refuel, it’s a bit of a worry when you are putting fuel in your bike and two fire fighters walk over to with a fire extinguisher in their hands ready to unload on you. I think someone must have warned them about me. Went out for another lap and decided I would help out the other riders by taking out tree after tree. Took its toll, as I lost a bark buster, found it on the next lap. Found a nice little open spot and let her rip. Some unit on a KTM hooned past me in 8th gear (I thought Menace was in Vic? )I changed my line by about a foot and he clipped my handlebar and disappeared into the dust. I won’t say what I yelled out, not that he would have heard me anyway, but hey…I felt better, (even tho I needed to change my undies). This locked up my throttle which made me go through my second pair of undies. Heading to a tight corner I was going to hit the ejector seat(custom built in all my bikes) but managed to bring it back at the last moment. Limped back to the pitts and Boony the ‘pitt bitch of the year” fixed all my little problems. Take a bow mate you’re a legend. Back out to the dust to clean up a few more trees for the lads. Towards the end of the day I had to get another lap in as I was determined to finish the bloody race. Bugger all traffic left and I was starting to feel the ol footy injuries coming back to haunt me. Eventually made it to the end but I think even the time keepers had knocked off for the day. That was my 4th Pony express and first checkered flag. KING OF THE WORLD!!!! :woohoo:
Shagged I made it back to our Old Bull area. Bloody flat trye hadn’t corrected itself while I was off riding so the mongrel had to come off and the replacement put on. I swear those Japs who make those cars have never changed a bloody tyre in their life. Ecks was combing his hair in the reflection of his new shiny ute while Boony gave me a hand to load all my crap and change the tyre. Rocket was head foreman. As I drove off, I passed the trophy presentation which was in full swing, I wound down the window and asked them to post my trophy to me and give my winnings to charity. Home beckoned and after eating half an Angus cow at Macca’s Gunnedah I was looking forward to the fart sack.
A great day and it was good to see the Bulls gathered as one.
We rule !!!!!
Bol
:woohoo:Mate, that’s gold! Post of the month I reckon! You are a total legend to do that damn thing iron man, crazy stuff! Then to finish up with a F1 style tyre change! Wow!
I did have the stopwatch on you…. (good thing it had hour hands hey!) I’ve been fielding calls from McLaren, Ferrari and Honda all day! News travels fast in F1 circles apparently! I still think we should have just turned the tyre around so that the bit with air was at the bottom and the flat bit was at the top! (Like the use of the word “we” there?)
I say we should have an OBT team, with either a per-race fee or annual, like a MA licence. Maybe have a T-shirt and/or cap? It would be nice anyway! Dreams! 😆

Quote:reading the latest issue of ADB there is an article on the Dalby Moto Northstar trailride, the author is lent a bike by Dalby Moto to do the ride, apparently the country is very rocky and at one stage he is just riding along minding his own business and bang he smacks the ground for no apparent reason!!!…
Now my questions to all you intelligent discerning elderly Bovines on this matter is:What Colour is it most likely to be?
……………………………………………
Therefore what brand of bike was he riding for this to occur?
……………………………………………
How could he prevent this from reoccuring?

Still displaying a shit-eating grin to myself
BCOh Blue, you keep coming up with subtle new ways of kicking those men who ride those machines don’t you?!
Was the machine a sort-of reddish yellow, or yellowish red?
I’d suggest to prevent this happening again he ride road bikes within city limits!
Awesome photos Boon-ster! Thanks for sharing those with us mate!

Boony, mate you have hit the nail on the head! Have not met a bad Old Bull yet! (Even yourself! ) Rocket and I were so impressed that you turned up to cheer us on, must have hurt to have to watch and not ride! Especially when we came back with our stories of how much fun it was! You’re Old Bull Hard Core mate!
Still smiling now, it was a lot of fun, but I now have blisters in places there were never meant to be blisters!
Bring on the piccies!!
Birthdays can go I reckon Chris. We are OLD bulls after all!

I like the new format! Well done Chris!
Bloody lucky that! Could very easily have ended in tears! I had one where a strap broke and the bike laid over on its side. Fortunately it was a box trailer, but still damaged the radiators.
I was talking to a mate recently who had a strap break while the bike was on the back of the ute. It then fell off the left hand side, with the left strap still on. The bike ended up cartwheeling along beside the ute and caused all sorts of damage to the ute, nearly wrote it off! The bike was a complete loss though. It can happen so easily!
Adrian, the stock handguards are pretty crappy regardless, it is probably worth changing to the BB mounts anyway. I intend to once the standard ones crap out on me, which will not be too far away I think. Badly designed I reckon.
