I agree NATO, thought council was there to serve the public ???

Must be some good drugs where you are h… No Council I deal with ever works on that principle! “Serve the public”!?! Or was this post meant to go in the Jokes thread!? :silly:

Shame, it isn’t the first instance I’ve heard of where a bike park has been affected or closed down by Council red tape.

In my experience I would crack the head from new and drop the kibbles straight in and save the future grief. It is really the only weakness in what is otherwise a brilliant bike. You have been lucky to get this long out of them Snowy.
The stock valves are made from a secret composite of PlayDo and chalk
A company as experienced as Honda should know better!!

    STM

Funny you should say that STM, whenever I ask a Honda dealer about it, they tell me there is NO valve problem and change the subject! Really, it beggers belief that Honda have let this go for so long, I mean anyone who doesn’t know about it must be living in a hole or something! And as for the dealers, why they don’t do exactly what you have and slip the heads off every new CRF and replace the valves I’ll never understand. Charge an extra $400 – $500 bucks and people will buy them in preference to the stock hand grenade versions! (Ok, maybe hand grenade is an exaggeration, but you know what I mean!)

Good one Wags! You may find that bridge is actually a State Forest effort rather than Council. Which will only make it less likely to be sorted in a hurry!

Scraper has not been touched, I believe the plan is to get Sam going and use it to load the scraper on to a low loader. There is a rumour that there may be a 50,000 yard tank to be dug in about 18 months so they will need the scraper for that.

Yes, was tempted to post up on the D7 work, but it was less a labour of love, more a chore. poor Daz and Baz were stressed out of their minds! I’d like to see regular progress on Sam now!

Well, Sam the D6 is back at the yard now. There was a delay while the boys rebuilt the final drive on a D7F, an expensive and slow process. Now, they are madly running around trying to catch up on lost time (and money) so Sam is taking a bit of a back seat in the priority list for a while.

The front grille is off and next will be the hydraulic tank and associated hoses, then the nose cone. This will make room for the cable pulleys and conduits when they are installed.

Hopefully, I’ll be on hand most weekends to hand spanners and take photos, so that you can see any progress as it occurs.

At least, now that Sam is in the yard, he is handy to the workshop and small jobs don’t require a half-hour drive each way, things can happen in spare moments.

So, not a lot of progress on Sam to report, but fingers crossed things will start to change now!
