Good point… although we have an 18 month old daughter who gets clothes dirty to a level you can only dream of! So anything that can get that out is pretty full-on!

For the sake of a $30 filter I’ll give it a go. If it falls apart I’ll hunt you down and skin you like a dog!

The detergents should not be too much of a problem, since most people wash their filters in some form of detergent after the turps/kero/petrol anyway. A lot of diesel engines will run on kero so there is not a huge difference between the two. B)

I will try this and let you all know how it works out.

Mmmm, love the smell of diesel in the morning! If I still had the DRZ people wouldn’t think twice, just assume I was riding a tractor!:P

How come you should have never been sold a 2-banger? They should be ok for just about anything a 4-stroke can do. Not great, but they can be adapted. Champo rode his TM300 2t almost 500km in two days, mostly at road speeds and all he changed was the front sprocket.

Mind you, poor service is poor service so I’m not arguing about that!

Oh, and welcome to OBT! :woohoo:

No, the only major difference from petrol I could think of is that Diesel has detergents in it. It is very similar to kero really. I might switch to diesel and see how it goes.

Apparently if you use kero you can put water in the bottom which the kero will sit on top of. Then when you rinse the filter in the kero the dirt etc sinks to the bottom in the water and the kero stays clean. Sounds reasonable to me.

Is there any reason Diesel wouldn’t work to clean filters? Would that be less harsh on the foam than petrol?

That sucks ECKS. Not wearing glasses myself I have never really thought about the issues you four eyed folk may have. I’ll whinge less from now on knowing that my goggle problems aren’t as bad as others :)

I might try Mr Sheen on mine though…..

Gee thanks for that… I think! You’re alright for a homo pommy KTM riding git! (I can backhand with the best of them mate!)

Still tickets available for the ECKS eye-poking out event of the century! If I get enough starters I’ll poke moto’s eyes out as a warm-up! :woohoo:

I have huge goggle problems as a rule. Firstly I wear glasses and my prescription is such that I cannot get contacts. Which leaves OTG goggles. Then if it gets wet (or damp… or cool… or I get hot… or warm… or go near the goggles) the goggles fog and my glasses follow suit.

I have tried Rainx on the goggles and wasn’t impressed. Same thing for spit and Mr Sheen. Can’t use ‘substances’ on the lens of my glasses as they are anti-scratch anti-reflection coated somehow and it isn’t good to go slathering stuff on there. I have bought an anti-fog lens for my OTG’s and I’ll see how it goes. I hope it works. :S

Recently I got new glasses. The pair I got are a bit wider than the old ones and don’t fit as nicely under the goggles. Its a conspiracy I tells ya!

I think I’ll just poke my eyes out myself now and be done with it! I’m selling tickets to all who want to watch. Extra cost if you want to laugh!

Here Here!! My eyes! Just when I thought they were recovering from the polka dot jersey you have to inflict this on the OBT community!! That’s an image of gross desXRuction, worthy of the late Saddam!

Well all I have to say is Thank Goodness!! :woohoo:

The jersey hurts my eyes, even in photos! And OBT kills my productivity – which is why, since I laid my graduate off, my posting here has slowed right down, can’t work and play at the same time any more. (Two phones, one person, plus real work to be done…) B)

Can we move this retirement forward to, oh I dunno, maybe June?

It was fun while it lasted, you bunch of blokes are alright!

I really mean that!

    …really!

What’s your email address moto? I have some corkers I could send! (Seriously!)

    I promise I won’t spam your email address…

Or post it at http://www.anangangbang.com (although as a mod there they probably have your address already!)…

Or use it to order a Russian bride…

So how many nuts are we talking about and what type of nuts………not that I am planning to get rid of a dog next door or anything:laugh:

No idea how many – or even if that was the problem! It is not a nice thing to watch, the smasms eventually kill the dog. Snail bait is another trap. It is something you don’t think much about, till something happens like our experience! :(

The nuts are hazelnuts and macadamias. Macadamias normally will make a dog crook but don’t usually kill, just make them act drunk and listless. Mouldy nuts kill. Now there’s a slogan! :P
