Through Arthurville? That’s the other direction isn’t it?

There’s a few reasonable tracks around Stuart Town, one of the most popular is the railway service track from Wello. Haven’t heard of any through Arthurville though.

They may not have been invited yet Al, I told Mick to ask them all week but he’s pretty slack. I called his dad on Friday and he’s going to talk to Mendham on Monday so the message should get to them then. But feel free to tell them as well!

The 14 front sprocket is much more betterer, but I still prefer snotty tight single to anything else. I still have nightmares about kangroos… I’d rather clean one up at 40 on single than 100 on road – dirt or bitumen. I may change my tune one day, but as of right now, that’s the story!

We didn’t cross the crossing, the river was a bit up and I was tight for fuel, not to mention both of us being tight for time (had a surprise birthday party for Dave’s mum that night). Looked like a bastard of a crossing too!

This is not a DBW ride, this is just a ride. The place normally opens at about 8:00 or 8:30 Al, we have no set start time yet. You are free to tag along with me or make your own group, whatever floats your boat.

    Any other takers?

Let me know if you can’t get a home for the Lab Dan. I don’t think we could swing another Lab, but maybe I could find a good home somewhere.

    True that mate, true that!B)

I’d better not mention my old habit of surrepticiously chucking a .22 bullet into the fire when nobody was looking then!

Honestly it has me at a loss as to how I didn’t feel any heat – but I didn’t. It was sore after the first day, but it cleared up and wasn’t even red the next morning. It was bloody sore when we finished though. I think it has to be chalked up as “one of those weird things that may never happen again but if it does we will know what it was!”:)

I think that many dealers know about it and will sort it out under warranty. The problem here is that many others know about it and choose not to help. It is piss poor, I think that if the problem shows up on a Yamaha, a dealer should fix it, at no cost to the owner. Full stop, no ifs no buts. As TB says, being a known problem it should be a recall.

Interesting about the knee thing Moto. I couldn’t notice the heat from the holes in the shroud when I was riding. Then again, it was probably hotter on the Hill End ride than it was the other weekend? Could be just a combination of ambient temp with the heat from the shroud?

Actually Ecks I am surprised by how good mine is on the road (NX that is) Sits on 105 real good, will hold along at 110 if you want and does 120 I know that, steers nice handle great and so much cheaper than the bikes you mentioned and way more capable of road, best thing I have spend my hard earned on in a while ;)

I have ordered my panniers today and will be using the above to set mine up :)

Yeah TB, they always were a good machine, no doubt. I’m not looking to do any touring as such, more commuting between here & Orange for work or band, whatever. 100km+ return trips in the ute every couple of days gets tiring, and sucks a lot of fuel that would be better burnt by a 2-wheeled machine! As a road commuter the NX wouldn’t be as good as the V-Strom, simply because of fairings, seat, etc. As an adventurer it would be much better, but that’s not what I’d be getting one for. The price difference does put it in the hunt though…

Always liked the old Dominators. Nice setup Champo, for a tourer anyway!

I have a strange idea in the back of my mind that one day, if business turns around (a lot), I might get a more road orientated bike as well as my enduro bike. I’m leaning toward a V-Strom, but that NX does look the goods! Totally different bikes I know, but they would be used by me for the same thing! Road miles!
