I have no comment on the bikes you have shortlisted, but as to getting a new bike…
You LUCKY LUCKY BASTARD!!
Emailed Scott last Friday, he emailed back saying he’d call me yesterday. No call yet but he knows how to get hold of me so I’ll wait.

Yep, I’m in.
You can move box trailers around by loading them on another trailer. Did that once by bolting the smaller one upside down on the larger one. Got a mate with a box trailer now? Use his to get this one home and sort it out.

Have a bad day TB?
Peaple are generaly good,,it’s just the odd ones, and they always have the most impact on us,,so it’s not personal, they probably treat every one that way.
If you let someone merge in traffic in front of you and they do not wave do you think
A: they suck
Or
B: I did a good deed and that is its own reward. You did a good thing Dickie, just happened it was a bad person. In my experience they are the exception, not the rule.
STM
I’m with STM here. Do nice things for your own satisfaction and know that if you get no thanks that you are better than them.
Had a bloke abuse me over a quote for work once, apparently the “competition” were “half my price”. Listened, then quietly thanked him for the opportunity to quote and said that his response said more about him than it did about me and hung up!
Stopped to help someone with a flat tyre the other day. Cars were streaming past and this older lady was struggling. As I went past I thought “Hell, if that was Mrs ECKS I’d want someone to help!” so I wheeled around and helped. 5 minutes of my time, no trouble for me in the scheme of things, and it made her day. Worth it and then some!
Let the crap go past you and take satisfaction from your good deeds.
Just curious, if you remove a defunct login, does that username remain on the system or can it be used again?

Bollocks is being an idiot :laugh:Nothing unusual really
I just saw this thread and you all on the piss I think, we are at 1996 its says  :pinch:
TB
Yup, this is true! I’m sure there is no way that, say, an old defunct member login could be removed by anyone, especially a moderator…
Interesting to look through the list, there’s an awful lot of inactive members there!
Trailboss wrote:You need to compare same for same Boze eg: KTM 300 for KTM 300Bikes have different gear ratios internally that differ and create a different counter shaft final drive ratio
Just cause a 14/48 works on a XR 400 it will be all out of sorts on a KTM 400 more than likelyTB
Beat me to it TB. Stock on a DRZ250 is 14/42 and I’m running 14/46. Means nothing to anyone except another DRZ250 rider.

Legend! *Tick*
Hmmm… in that case, better make mine a Large as well please TB.
Washed the DRZ today, and it was such a beautiful day I decided to get it dirty again! Spent an hour on the fire trails west of town and found a new route to try on the mountain bike. Awsome fun. Also figured out that the bike is geared down from stock, she’s flat out at 110 and buzzy at 90! The stock rear sprocket is in a box if I need it though.
Time to try out the new clip-on pedals on the mtb!
Replace it. No question, especially if the foam is damaged.
What’s your head worth? Shame to bust your head for the sake of a new helmet.
Teknik wrote:Here is my 5c on easy outs or any other snapped bolt remover that winds/pushes itself into the bolt.
They are all complete garbage!!!!
I have 2 sets of easy outs that I might use every pancake day. By their action they expand the bolt, locking it into the hole harder and making snapping one off very common. What do I use? Left handed drill bits. I’m on my 4th set. I use them all the time and they absolutely rock. If the bolt is so seized in that a little heat and a left hand drill won’t pull it out a bloody easy out has no chance.
I hate helicoils too. Ok for single use but crap on threads that see work. Timeserts are what you want. Again, my helicoil collection gathers dust after I bought a master time sert kit.
Good info Nick, this should be a stand-alone thread to make it easier to find. I’m pretty sure you have quite a few gems of information like this that could make the average person’s life easier in the shed!
Trailboss wrote:ECKS-Man wrote:I get what you are saying TB, but on the other side of that coin, you as asking for a commitment to purchase what may potentially be a Porsche without a pricetag. Once people know a price things will sort themselves out.Just from my point of view, when I say I am interested, my sock under the bed is only so big! I have most of the retail price set aside right now, and could make up the difference, so one way or another I’ll be getting a set of braces. Not sure which model until prices come in, but most likely not the Ultra.
No I am not asking for a commitment to buy read again. I guess I am asking to make sure you are serious
Hey dont give me a hard time I am not getting anything from this only your love ECKS
Yes the ultras may not be for everybody, the Cells are a good thing and cheaper. I will buy a set of ultras because I ride a lot.
TB
Not having a go mate! I appreciate what you are doing and will shout you a beer when we meet next!
I think the price will affect people’s “interest” and the number of “interested” people will affect the price, making it a catch 22 situation.
