had a bloke from work totally smash his foot trying to kickstart a bigbore about 10yrs ago with joggers on. he was in his 40’s and has never returned to work as his injury left him incapable of ever working underground again. has cost him a packet and worse part was, it wasnt his bike, he was doing a mate a favour and had it sitting outside his property with a 4 sale sign on it.
Barefoot,
ahhhh, i cant look
broken axle dropped in yesterday and yes he is now the proud owner of a 4″ colarbone surgery scar. He returned my gps which he was using to not get lost at sunny corner on that fatefull day and as my gps is in a holster that you clip to the front of your camelback straps he now blames it for his injury.
where is that oh bugger emoticon
rest up axel and put 20kg on during your break so that you have a goal when you get back riding.
it was nice to finally meet kate axel and we both thought she was brilliant. too good for you Pal

November 19, 2009 at 12:34 pm in reply to: 2003 ADR compliant (Registerable) TTR125LWE $3600 #161757no, but had 1 enquiry due to this site from 5 enquiries all up. only advertised here and on one other dirtbike site so happy with the response. the prospective new owner is not a member on either site but was directed to my for sale by a member
Looks like bike is sold to a QLDer. just waiting for confirmation of funds transfer so no other offers will be accepted for the time being
eric, sorry mate but my kids have forced me to cancel on ya. daughters 1&3 have got their heads together and decided that this is the ideal weekend for them to come home for a family christmas. Both of them are not coming back at xmas as they are going away and the youngest is then off to Europe for 4 weeks. daughter no2 has now moved to Cairns so she wont be back either.
Sorry mate and enjoy the weekend, i was looking forward to itjust had a look at red book and they are listed as TT250R with a rrp of $7299 new + onroads
whoever suggested navy may be right. good training and not too bad a wage to start with and definetely diesel training and big bastards at that. Saw some patrol boat cranks and blocks up at Teterins in Newcastle a few years back and was amazed
Ex navy guys that have put in for trades jobs at the mines in my area (central west NSW) are highly regarded and seem to get into the mining game easier than guys out of factories etc. A big problem with factory trained fitter and machinists is that the fitting has taken a back seat and machining/fabrication is their forte. Most mine sites contract out a lot of their machining/fabrication so good fitters are in demand and the machines always need repair and maintenance. Most mine sites dont tend to repair broken components, they change them out and send it away for repair. Very modular type of work.
Tradesmen are going to be in bigger demand in a few more years as us older guys retire. When i started there were over 60 mech appenticeships per year in my district whereas for the last 15 yrs there have been less than 20 on offer. 40 years ago they had to bring alot of poms over due to the skills shortage and history looks like repeating itself, but pommieland is short of tradesmen as well so bugger knows where they are gonna find them.
Currently in my 29th year as a fitter at the same mine i started at.end gap is critical especially if it is too tight. The ends can butt up when it heats up, the gap is to allow for this expansion. Too big of a gap puts you back where you started a lot quicker (rings out of tolerance and compression losses) Some manufacturers have different specs due to use of different materials. most manufacturers call for .004″ for every inch of cylinder size so in this case (has to be converted to inches then back again)
76mm / 25.4 = 2.9921259 inches
2.9921259inches X .004 = .0112 inches (rounded up)
.012inches x 25.4 = .3048mmBUT
if it is a CP piston set they call for .005″ per inch
76mm / 25.4 = 2.9921259 inches
2.9921259inches X .005 = .015 inches (rounded up)
.015inches x 25.4 = .381mmcheck your instruction sheet or their website as some are different and they should also tell you how to adjust the end gap.
If unsure on doing it take your cylinder and ring to your local shop and give them the end gap spec you are after and they might do it for you cheaply as they should be set up to do the job and have a ring grinder.
Most manufacturers also say your cylinder should be torqued down when checking the end gap, but dont know many that actually do this and dont know how much of a difference it makes, maybe someone with more knowledge can tell us all
try here

u may be right boss, does not look like i have factory support next year.
i didnt this year ever, bastards, back to work i guess
eric, just dump the old oil out of the tubes and refill with marshmellows from woolies or coles, should then suit your riding style or lack thereof.
my pleasure, anytime maaaate. :laugh:Yes ecks it is true that axel bought stu’s bike, really screwed him over whilst the poor bloke was down was the story i heard.
Only got a 300 as he couldnt handle owning a bike that he had to work hard on to get through the gnarly stuff. What a flat tracker.😆
Be in touch with the pair of yas soon in regards to a camping/riding weekend up this way in late october / early nov
