    Hi Rob,

I’d be interested to see what the static sag is after you get 85-90mm of rider sag. On paper the springs you’ve listed .50 / 7.0 are for someone well over 110kg, so I’d say the wash out and poor feeling are coming from too stiff of springs.

The springs are so much heavier than standard they are having an argument with the clickers, and the clickers aren’t winning. That makes it hard to give you come suggestions because its likely you cant back them off enough to get some suppleness because of the springs.

We’d recommend going down to a .46 front and a 5.2 to 5.4 rear spring.

Let us know if we can help further.

    Regards,
    ER

Mick, that is funky shit. I take note of leaky fork seals here for service and its about 50 / 50 as to which one leaks. Maybe you brake too much…

Hatto the hijacker – 3-4 days right now, quicker if you pay in scotch.

Ok, when I stopped laughing – I have given it some real thought. Air enters a fork through the seals or from some loose fastener or adjuster on the top of the fork.

    A. Do you have those air bleeder thingies on all your forks?
    B. If you do – stop touching them and throw them out – they are evil and should be cast out.
    C. If you dont, dont buy them – they are evil and should be cast out.
    D. Make sure your bleed screws are snug and the o-ring under it is in good condition.

Now in theory, with the inherent stiffness provided in modern triple clamps, large axles, wheels, spokes etc. you shouldn’t get any noticeable twist or pull from one fork leg or the other, and certainly not enough to wear one seal over the other.

So after much consideration Mick, here is my official diagnosis.

As there is no statistical deviation with leaking seals that provides evidence of your “brake” side seal wearing prematurely over the non brake side, and given the statistical abnormality that ALL of YOUR bikes leak from just the one side, I can conclude that you are indeed cursed.

Of course if you want us to look at them, shoot them over, otherwise get a witch doctor / priest / hooker to exercise out the demons in your bikes.

    ER out.

As much as hindsight is perfect and all, how do you continue to guess how many Taper Wire springs we should make. Every order has been increased by 10-15% for the past 15 months I’ve been at Teknik; and we keep running out of them…

    So with the only options being;

    a. I grit my teeth and shit one… or
    b. wait patiently

Whats a poor sales monkey to do?

There is no grassy knoll, no alternative plan, no “lets keep one on the shelf for someone special”. They sold out. I could have been a lout an sold the wrong rate just to get a sale… not my style, neither is petty, sly arsed comments on message boards.

Hey Mike, our normal t-valve kits is a DIY job ($199). The kit we’re talking about here is in house only, but the $250 gets you the kit, a service, and a re-valve including seals.

We can arrange to have them picked up with our courier service and returned to you fresh as a daisy and working a treat.

Give us a call in the office. 02 4732 2626

If you two can stop swapping spit in the shower long enough… (Clint Eastwood – one of my favorite lines!)

mr. fireman, i have on my desk a few of those kits left, so you are welcome to one – $250 all up, fitted, serviced, re-valved, out the door, forks fixed!

Give me a call at the office, we can arrange for a pick up as well if you’re not close.

AND, thank you axel. Its nice to see outcomes like this. I can honestly say I have never worked in a place where everyone rows in the same direction. Makes the days go fast and every conversation with customers a pleasure.

Its also nice to have a boss that will not cut corners and only wants (and expects) happy customers. TB’s right, Nick will go out of his way to rectify an issue even if the the receiver may not deserve it. Its not necessarily to keep a “reputation” so much as its pride in the work produced.

And pride used in this situation is a good thing.

I’ll stop now before I need a frickn’ hug.

… actually Mr. chris72a it would be better to get a couple of hundred Ks on your new bike BEFORE you bring it to us. We get better results knowing what you do and don’t like about your bike than a good guess.

Well if you have that model Husky and you’re quick and you have already got your boingers done… I could be persuaded.

    Only a full system for a TE250 2010-2011…

Wow… I guess English is becoming a second language here.

Anyone who didn’t post a picture or walked in off the street paid normal price less 20% for x-mas in July. Any of our 1600 plus fb friends could post a picture with our logo on their arse for that matter, and get a $120 all up service on a shock or forks.

Not everyone let us know that they were –

    a. and Old Bull – where you always get 10% off, or
    b. a fb friend

I keep saying this, I’m psychotic, not psychic, neither are any of the staff here so y’all gotta speak up if ya wants yer digs when you call us or drop in so we can write it down. No one was having a lend or trying to be sly, and the inference is unnecessary. End of that discussion.

SO lets try this again… The draw will be held for the July entrants this week.

But, ER is having “Boxing Day” in August for those that may have missed out. You still have to make, steal or procure our logo, put it on your bike (Kat keep it clean), like us on face book and post the picture. Let us know who you are and we’ll honor the $120 an end service price for this month as well.

    Fair? Fair.
