Might be a bit old but over at ADV RIDER forum, there is this :

    Quote:
    1998 KTM 300egs:
Its in good condition, recipts for top end rebuild and bottom end inspection not long ago, fresh brake pads, chain and sprockets, wheel bearings, fork seals, the front tyre is shot, the rear is about 50% and there is a minor issues with the forks. There are a few random bolts here and there.
The bike comes with bark busters, a KTM folder full of recipts, parts and service manuals, and all of the original road gear minus the kick stand. The odo reads 3300k’s the guy i bought it off was the second owner and did about 1000k’s on it the whole time he owned it so this may be correct…
Id like $3000 but i need it gone so any fair offer will be taken.

i just use the cheaper scott ones and have a set of scott desert goggles for hot fast dusty days that keep the dust out good but fog up real easy.

I was looking at the desert’s a while ago,we had a guy come for a run with us, and he too was complaining about fogging up in single track.

I have a cuppla pair Smith Intake, with the ‘flip up bit’ at the top, clear really well, but in heavy dust ‘leak’ a little.

I have blue, clear and ‘light sensitive’ lenses, +++ for the sensitive ones!

And also use the ‘work acquired’ yellow safety’s in the wet.

Had a similar thing Last year.

Mates of a mate (1st problem) wanted to go out to Sunny Corner to have a look prior to last years Rally,
fair enough, so out we go…

All turned up around the right time, “everybody know how to ride ‘cornerman’ ?” “yep yep no drama’s mate”…

First 3 corners,…. they diddn’t,, so pull up have the little ‘explain’ how she works!!
(still took 1 lad a few more ‘examples’ to get it right).

lad falls off,, brake leaver=broke, no drama just grab your spare…(joke)!!!

Got one of mine out, quick mod and away we go!

Lad falls off again (need to put legs down when fallin mate ) clutch this time, again no spare…
WRF leaver she no fit DRZ, until you file the crap outa it, and away we go again!!about an hour..

Funny now but he turned up no gear no spares, not even a camelbac/ drink or anything..

However we did charge him 50 skins for the leavers AND the ‘service’ LOL!!!!
I hear he now has a set of spares..

    Cheers

    no dramas TB

I have also heard that one competitive is around the 130k mark, with a splash and dash mid way.

Also GT Taylor has that trick AML Aprilia he built for last year for sale!! ready to race!!!

I will be supporting a cuppla ‘old racers’,, a bike shop owner and the other a well known race mechanic both on WRf’s…

Bit of a step back this year, I was on the support crew for the winning bike last year!!

More info As I get it….

    See you out there.
    Cheers
