Opps that didn’t work as it was ment to. The first paragragh was ment to be Kat’s quote. Clealy I’m not to computerley.
Oops I forgot to mention how many drops you did………. I did that on purpose
. Didn’t want to upset you and jeopardies my new found riding buddy for APC Rally…. your count was actually 3 (THREE). One cross rutted face plant that was graceful, one was a gentle lean back to talk to us girls followed by a flop and the last one I missed out.
OK Three it is. The third was when my back wheel slid out on a….on a…O I can’t remember what caused it, but I’m not sure my hands hit the ground  I definitely didn’t plan it so it counts as a drop.
Actually if I’m totally honest Stephen probably saved me from a forth when I was off line after a creek crossing (o no- that’s almost a cricket score). The place where Alyssa did her awesome stunt woman wheelie up and out of the creek.Fear not, it takes more than mentioning my gumpy moments to upset me. Anyway they were all worth it for the laughs.

Awesome ride report Kat and top pic’s and vid’s Mick.
One the way home I felt so good (smiling ear to ear) and decided that for me that day embodied what I think the Spirit of Adventure Riding is all about (even though we were on endure bikes, the point is still the same). Great Trails, Great People and Great Memories. :woohoo: To be shown around someone’s local trails with a sense that we were all there to meet new people, have fun and support each other was just so great.
The hospitality you guy’s (Kat, Stephen, Alyssa, and Mick) showed me exceeded all expectations, and I look forward to repaying that one day soon. The variety of trails, riding tips, help and FUN made that ride one of the best I have been on :silly: . Not to mention finding two awesome girls to ride with is incredible. Thank you! I can’t wait to do it again!!!!
Kat, the only thing you didn’t mention was the “liedown” count. This is where I have to fess up that I ended the day with the most with 2 (or 3 if you count losing my balance while sitting still) . If Alyssa had footage of a slow motion off I had after getting crossed up in some ruts, it would be a great laugh for all. It was funny from my point of view, let along from behind. I’m sure I was starting to laugh before I rolled onto the ground.Mike is stoked that his Trumpy made it into the story. I defiantly need to work on his choice of bike.
Kat, you and me on the APC – I can’t wait! Alyssa, are you sure we can’t convince you to come along. Considering how much fun Saturday was, just think who much trouble the three of us could get into over 14 days.
Cheers all,
Flying FishHi TB,
Yep thats me.I was hoping to call in last Tuesday, but he got held up in Canberra, and unfortunatly I couldn’t really wait. I also havent had a chance to reorganise, dam work seems to get in the way  Not to mention knowing how busy Steve is.
I need to get down there soon to look at the gear and parts I need, not to mention just picking Steve brain. Thanks for the offer on the help/advice. Perhaps when I manage to find time to get to Sydney I might give you a call and you can run your eye over my WRR.
I’m hooking up with Kat and Alyssa tomorrow for a ride. Can’t wait to meet her and talk APC.
Thanks for the info on the brake lines. Definitely worth considering.
Cheers,
Flying FishHi TB,
It awesome the information that you (and others) are providing regarding APC builds and preparations.
I have actually signed up for the APC myself. I’m doing it my trust little WR250R (affectingly starting too be referred to as the “little Jigger”). Thankfully I have very good mate helping me and a local bike shop in Aberdeen is doing the work we can’t do.
My list of works is almost as long as yours for the XR. I have a few questions regarding braided brake lines. I am replacing the current brake lines, however I wasn’t really sure on needing to use braided lines or even what options would be best on small bike like a WRR. What lines are you putting on the XR and why? What’s the advantage of having braided lines over others? I know not all types and brands are equal, but are there advantages of some sorts over others, particularly considering the usage they will be under i.e. long term trail use rather than needing race high performance standards.Cheers,
Flying FishHi Peter,
That’s a cool idea. There is indeed a few of us. Juilie from MAC also has F650 and does a bit of riding. I love the great irony, that a bunch of envios might band together to carve up some trails in the bush
.
Yep I’m still up at Bengalla. You’re with AECOM aren’t you? Sorry if I have that wrong, I have a memory like seive sometimes.
Perpaps you can show us some of your local trails one day or else come out to the upper
Hunter and we can show you the Commission Rd or go Nundle way.Anyways, great to hear from you.
Cheers,
AmyHi Alyssa,
Welcome, I’m a newby myself ( thanks for Welcome on my Newby thread).
I can’t believe this, I have been looking for other girls to ride with for a while, and since joining this site last week I now know 2 serious girls to ride with.
I gotta say that from Katgirl’s post it sounds like you two don’t mess around! 11hours from start to finish – sheesh! That’s a big day of riding. I can’t wait to get among the mix.
I have a WR250R, but seem to spend most of my time on my 800GS. So I really need time on the WR and more single track or more technical riding (i.e. snotty hills and erosion gullies). I think if I can get out with you and Kat I should be get that experience and be in good hands (bring on the pain :silly: ).
I live just down the road at Singleton. Every time I pass through Kurri I look longingly at the mountains around that area. I look forward to checking out your local trails one day. What are you (and Kat if she’s avaliable) doing on the 12th May?
Cheers Amy
Hi Ace,
Thanks for the welcome.
I love my 800 :woohoo:
Yep I do a lot of off road riding. Living in the Hunter I have some cool trails less than 15min from my door. I have also done a few of the the Trail Zone rides and last years GS Safari. As for my 800 I have always loved it, but I loved it even more when I completely upgraded the suspension. The boys from Teknik really helped me out and it’s better than ever now. I put Biturbo in the front and Yacugar in the rear. Some of the best money I have spent, except for actual bike and of cource fuel!
What about you? Tell me about your 800GS
Amy
Wow, what a welcome. Thanks all. By the sound of the posts I will definitely have to front up to the OBT B’day W’end. Fear not Kat, you rum antics shouldn’t scare me. I don’t mind getting into a cup of port….or ten, it can get messy.
I think a little like you, I am use to being around far too many men so I am really looking forward to riding with another girl. No sure about the snoring though, I’ll have to bring ear plugs…or just more port.
Thanks for the ride invite for this Sunday, unfortunatly I am areadyl booked for a black top ride out to Rylstone with my BF. Definatly another time though.
