    What an awesome weekend.

A big thank you to all the riders that came along and shared our tracks with us :woohoo: . It was pretty tremendous to see so many great people, the array of bikes, and of course and the support from Yamaha Australia and Adventure Moto.

From my point of view I would like to thank everybody for the words of support for the work we all were doing (i.e. the ride leads, sweeps, and the guys who were kind enough to follow in the 4WD).

When we see the result like we did on the weekend it’s all totally worth it.

Everybody was patient while we loaded the GPS’s and the slight delay in the second day ride briefing. The 4wd with all the computers didn’t arrive into Orange until a lot later, so we were a little pushed for time and were still loading the GPS’s up till 9.30. But again all worth it.

Our Saturday started early and very cold!!!!  :pinch: I think we rolled out of Lithgow at 6.40am and hit the tar through to Capertee.
We did this to get a jump on the riders and check the later section we thought might need some marking. We were confident about the first section, so just skipped it. Needless to say we were frozen when we got to Capertee.

As we rode through the fog the water would settle on our arm then freeze when we went through a cold section. Non of us could feel our fingers.
This is the ice on TB and PTW’s jackets and check out the ice around my mirror.

As the day warmed up we stopped for some quick photos of the fog in the valley’s. It was really beautiful.

We rolled into Wellington at about 1ish for some lunch, which is where we heard about Lotsa’s crash and a few people getting lost early in the piece. TB decided to go back to check out how the rest of the group were going and to check the general pace among the group.

PTW and I continued on and stopped in at Wolfy and Rach’s for some amazing scones, jam and cream. Their hospitality was very generous, and tasty. Now Rach is a bit of a cake wiz and she baked up an awesome little number for TB.

He got in a little later and we snapped this pic before we started inhaling the cake.

The run into Orange was great and I think we just beat the pack in.

At dinner and drinks it was great to hear the stories of the day. I had expected the muddy lane to cause a few more problem, but credit to everybody, it seemed it was conquered by all. We will have to step it up for the next one. :P B)

Day two seemed a little warmer at 6.30ish. Also I thought the tracks were a bit muddier than when we did the pre run, but still cracker riding.

After we had breakfast and then headed out the mark the forest section we figured the rest of the track would be fine. So we turned around and come back to join the other riders and then head out with the Yamaha guys to show them the pine forest and single trails. :woohoo: :woohoo:

After that I pretty much step out of the rest of the ride and hit the road back to Lithgow. I wasn’t looking forward to my trip back up the Putty and I wanted to get home at a reasonable hour. you could say I pulled a heartlidge

I got a bit of rain coming into Lithgow  and was a bit cold by the time I got back to the pub :side: . I spotted Wolfman and Pete and they were kind enough to help me load my bike onto the trailer.

AMAZING weekend. Thanks to one and all!! See you on the next ride or at the Birthday weekend.

    Thats Right!!! Take note!!

The only thing missing on that lioness is some french polish on her nails. But clearly she knows how to handle insensitive men getting her up at stupid o’clock to ride motorbikes in the freezing morning. Better make that coffee a double shot!!

    Hi,

I don’t know about y’all but I am getting excited about this ride. The tracks are set and pre run, and accommodation is booked (if you haven’t got this sorted you need to sort it out ASAP). Finally as recommended in another post, fitting knobby tires is a must. The week prior to the pre run the tracks had a lot of rain, but were still in great condition when we rode them, they were just a little slippery in spots. We can expect the same for the actual ride. No need to be worried just be prepared and put knobby tires on.

TB, Pete and I will be loading GPSs both nights.

   IMPORTANT…….. to assist us can you please make sure prior to the Friday night all your previous tracks and data are removed from your GPS.
Save any tracks you want to keep into your base camp files on your home computer so your GPS can be cleaned. This will make it easier for us to share the route with our friends :) :cheer: .
Your GPS needs to start with a clean slate!!!
By doing this it will save us a lot of time and hassle on the night. If you don’t know how to remove the data from your GPS, be at the Commercial Hotel Motel Lithgow at 5pm on the Friday for TB’s GPS lesson. On the Saturday night we will be at the Hotel Orange between 6 and 9pm.

    See you all then,

On ya Guy’s, could happen to a nicer pair of blokes!! :woohoo: 😆

Eags this might allow you to take spot tracker stalking to a whole new level. I can see it now, mandatory blue tooth headsets for all adventure riders so you can call on the fly for on the track updates. I wonder if the old bull budget could extend to a surveillance helicopter………Bond style. You’d would look good in dark glasses and a weird ear piece………..

As for PTW, I might have to start being nice to you now…. 😆 :woohoo: and stop posting photos of you picking your bike up. Afterall you can easily just delete them now. :P Can wait to hit the trails again soon with you PTW and Congrats on your new corporate roles.

    5 years and growing strong!!

Thanks TB and Chris for all things OBT related and your hard work. (Thank Christ for alcohol to have got it all started!!!)

Somebody told me a great joke about Old Bulls,

There is an Old bull and young bull are standing on a hill looking down at a heard of cows. The young bull says “lets run down there and shag a few of the the cows.”

The old bull reply’s “I’ve got a better idea……lets walk down and shag them all”

    😆 😆 😆 😆

I’m not sure if that is appropriate in this thread, but funny all the same!!

Happy Birthday Old Bulls and thankyou!! What a wonderful community and group to be in.

    Hey Chris,

Where are we up to now? Gotta be getting close :woohoo: :woohoo:

It seems like every man and his dog is joining up since the Trail Rider Article featuring The Nav rides came out. Big thanks to Wolfman for that (and a little help from TB  )

Tell us some other stats…like how many females on the site?? 😆
