And this one just for fun………….my my is that PTW picking up his bike đ  Pete, what are you going under that tree??

NOoooooo what a shame!!
TB, I can’t believe how correct you were when you said they were going to close it on the following Monday. Like everybody else I’m just so glad we got to ride one last time.

All good, it was a great weekend, magic route
I really enjoyed the Woodstock to Oberon section, never ridden that before.
The section from the hole in the wall down the valley is magic, and hadn`t been there since the Caves wet wet wet weekend actually  BrilliantCheers, gotta run into town now ,,,, report coming later
Who’s counting KM’s, it was epic for all!! I would do it all again to repeat that weekend and to catch up with everyone.
Eags…….i fronted up to work today in relativity OK shape…tomorrow?????Part 1
To say I was excited about this ride was an understatement, thankfully all expectations were exceeded in every way. :woohoo:
I had my bike packed and prepped on Thursday night so all I had to do when I got home Friday was to change and jump on my bike. A quick 300km run down to Mittagong on Friday afternoon was a good warm up  . I think I got there at about 8pm, just in time for a meal and a few catch up drinks with the crew.
The usual Old Bulls humour was in full swing and the banter was flying. TB was loading GPS and making sure everybody was ready for the next day.
Saturday morning was an early start for TB, PTW and me. :S TB wanted to be out on track at 6am so we could get a head start on the group to make sure the course was clear and to set up any warning tape or detours. We rolled out of the Mittagong Pub bang on 6am.
It was a stunning run through Natti Nat Park and Wombeyan Caves. The fog wasnât too bad for us, I think we were there early enough that it hadn’t really rolled in and the Kangaroos were thick on the ground so we took it easy.
The aim of this ride was navigation and TB put in some cracker little side tracks that required good navigation to find them. These included a sharp little hill just of the main track and the power lines trail, both sensational to ride!!! Then into the pine forests and more navigational challenges, but our true test lie in our arrow making skills.
A couple of big trees were down across the track and after we managed to move one (by some miracle  ) the second one was truly impassable the track had to be detoured.
TB was the first to show off his arrow making technique, and while I scoffed at his effort, the group consensus was that it was clear enough to understand. I was next, so by virtue of being a female and therefore blessed with ability to improvise, I made my arrow using the backing of a large piece a bark. This was voted the best.
I would talk about PTWâs effort but it barley rates a mention. Poor PTWâs arrow was voted the worst :silly: . I have to mention that he did help me (a little  ) with my arrow, so perhaps it was a team effort…thanks PTW.As the day warmed up the tracks just seemed to get better and better with incredible trails through Abercrombie River National Park with it culminating with âThe Meccaâ. There was also great River crossings at Dingo Dell, Kowmung and the Hippy Camp. Then the run into Burraga for a hamburger, and a pleasant chat to the charming lady at the general store, NOT.
Next into the store were the Boulder brothers (Boulder and Fish), followed by Wolf Man, Jason, and Peter. After a while the majority of the pack had arrived and everybody was in great spirits talking about the incredible trails.
News was also filtering in about a drowned CRF in the Kowmung river and few people getting a little lost. Everybody made in safe later, of course with great stories.By the time we headed off again it was getting a bit late and a decision was made to group everybody at Bigga for a corner man system across the front of Wyangala dam to the fuel stop. Wolf Man led the way with the Boulder Bros sweeping, and everybody in this group rolled into the Woodstock pub at about 5pm.
The guy at the Woodstock pub was just wonderful and really went out of his way to make us welcome and comfortable.
All in all, a top night, made all the more special replaying PTWâs stunning lowside around a corner, caught on camera by TB. Thankfully he was OK with only a little bark off his hip. So we all proceeded to take the piss for the rest of the weekend.
More Soon!!!
Flying FishHaving been lucky enough to spend a little time with Lisa and Simon I can highly recommend coming along to see their presentation and meet them. They are a remarkable couple, whose stories are awe-inspiring, shocking and funny all rolled into one. :cheer:
If you have every questioned your position in the world, or thought that life is too short to continue on your current path, then you need to come and hear their story.
Great work Rory and Rock Motorcycles helping Simon and Lisa, and enabling them to share incredible story.

Wolfman wrote:G’Day guys… Wolfy here. Just sayin I am looking forward to the two day Nav ride. This will be my first ride out this year and since we pre-rode part of the course with TB in 38 degree heat along with Clubby, just before NYE.I have been nursing a busted foot (Yeah another one) but I am hoping all will be well on the ride. Tagging along with me is Peter Payne from YMA and Jason Barrett. I’ll only come unstuck if I try and keep up with these two legends. :silly:
Cheers
O come on Wolfy…. Hardned the *$^@ up sweetpea!
Broken feet are the story of you life đż
Oâman I can wait!! I havenât been out of my cage for a while, let alone on the dirt. :S
Eagâs Iâm not sure if you got my PM (based on the site difficulties last week), but I really donât know if I can get away from work early enough to join you for the ride to Mittagong…..but I am going to try. đż I will let you know next week. Thanks for the invite.
Iâm seriously looking forward to catching up with everybody.
I also got my Zumo back finally (it has an epic fail on the APC) so Wiggster, we shouldnât get too lost. Hopefully this time I will avoid any water holes. Iâm ever thankful to Jeffo for marching in to save me. Also glad I didnât meet DJâs fate in that hold. Probably only a meter away from it though.
Anywho, so you all soon.

Wow, what an amazing day that looks like and an amazing (and brave) bunch of Chicks to tackle the mud, not to mention the ever helpful support team.
I can almost hear Alyssaâs contagious laugh from here!! :laugh:Top report Kat and top job organising it all!
May there be more development rides for new OBT riders and displaying the Girl Power that was evident last weekend…Go team girls, go OBT!! :woohoo:

Hi TB,
Thanks for posting the paper up. Itâs good to see there is starting to be some independent research into the brace.
From my point of view it is an essential piece of my riding gear.
Here is a great girls analogyâŚI think itâs kinda like wearing a barâŚsure, its a little uncomfortable when you first start out wearing one, but soon you get used to it and then you donât even notice you have it on. Later you realise just how important it is and that it might just stop things from heading south. Cheap insurance if you ask me.
This is a difficult debate and each to their own…..I dont wear knee braces (yet!) eventhough they are highly recommended.

Hi Maso,
I’m really looking forward to tagging along with you to have a look around the coffs coast area.
I’m fine for either option, but being the hard core Latte sipping adventurer I am, I have a slight preference for the shorter option  . No worries to do the longer option though, it will just give us more stories at the end of the day.
The other way we can look at this is to also wait and see what the weather has in store for us.I should have no problem with fuel, but will bring a fuel bladder just in case.
I’m not sure if I will have a GPS for this ride. It depend if Garmin send me a new on in time.
OOOOOO I cant wait.
Eagle, really sorry to hear you can come along boo

Hi Nato,
sorry I missed you Moday time Frame,
The common is on the eastern side of town out behind the gold course. I think the city tip is also out that way. If you take Victoria Street all the way to the end you will be in the common. There is also another (better) way into it off the New England hwy as your comming into th Muss from the south I just don’t know the name of the road – or even if it has a name. But is almost opposite the Hill Side (or Hill View) anyway all the half empty new appartment complex on the southern side of town.
I Hope this help.
Great place to go for a fang!!
Cheers,
FF
Hi Nato,
I live in singleton but work in the Muss. While I don’t know the local trails like the back of my hand I do know a few people who do.
Your riding times are a little limited, but I will see who is up for a midweek ride and try to hook you up.
If your at a loose end in the coming days you can always ride in the Muswellbrook Common. There are endless trails through there and I don’t think you can get too lost, just watch out for the locals.
How long are you working up here and out of interest where are you working. I’m at Bengalla mine. Feel free to give me a call if you want some general directions to the common or other trails. PM me for the number.Flying Fish
