I dont think ive been on The barrington trail.
The Geales Ridge Rd runs north from the Scone Road just after Cobark on the Gloucester side of the Tops.Further north still is the Tomalla Rd & Curricabark Rd which join are also must do’s if your in that area.
G’Day PTW,
See if you can find the Thunderbolts trail that leads to Geales Ridge Rd this brings you down to The Barrington main rd. This is apparently locked some times but is supposed to be open and use to be the main access road across the tops.
Even if the gate is locked it would be a fantastic ride back as it is seldom used and is leaf littered and tunnelled in sections with trees.
PM me with your email address and Ill send you some GPS tracks we did on the run Lotsa broke his collar bone on last October
You cannot go wrong with the Camelback bladder & bite valve.
I went for the cheaper brands as I liked the different style of backpacks, but now I buy what pack I like and buy the Camelback bladder separate.Kriega is a good system which have good add on capabilities. But the Bite vale lets it down.
I like the look of the woolfman and will check it out nextime
Regards Gav
Have a top day mate. Cheers…..
I hope this works. But it is good to look up the info on youtube
they usually give good instructional videos of this type of gear
rgds GavbAugust 20, 2013 at 12:10 pm in reply to: August Naivgation Ride 2013 Wauchope to Bacca and Back #248334Many thanks to all. My face is still sore from laughing the whole weekend.
The experience of a group like this is awesome in its entirety. From hardened and weathered riders to relatively newcomers. Even the sick and injured had a smile on their dial.
A few pics and points of interest
Tryhard for keeping me awake on the way up and putting up with the banjo music
Everybody putting up with Tryhard
An amusing Friday night with Mackas now giving out Port Glasses

Catching up with all the old faces & the newThe newest best asset to my attire. The Adventure Moto neck warmer beanie. Thanks Steve. How awesome is this.
Steve seamed stumped at the prospect of …… NO BEER !
Watching the Farrier romp off in the distance on the wrong track and knowing there is no chance of catching him.
Puddles endurance and determination skill, to get out alive and with a sense of humour. All the best mate.
Being chased by Ace up the hill on the final section on the Sat arvo loop and being blown away that he could manhandle the beast over the erosion humps and that rate of knots.
Tryhard for taking on the embankment at the awesome lookout. Dropping everybodys jaw. and riding down it again
Scala G4 Communication gets two thumbs up. The G9 works well with the G4’s as well. The comments running through the entire weekend are still evoking an involuntary grin on my face.
The good choice of accommodationWho need beer for a good time?
Pies were good. Best Mongolian Lam pie this side of Ulaanbaatar, Hey John.
Apple Pie with a small scoop of ice cream
Thanks again TB and Crew and OBT – Adventure Moto – Yamaha – & The Minister for Finance & Fun Police.
Wahooo
I had a Sandvik brand folding Bush Saw which I carried for a lot of years and it was extremely good. It got a lot of use on the trail and at home
Lately I bought a cheap copy from bunnings, it isnt usless, but the Sandvik was 100% better. It didnt get stuck in the green wood and always seemed very sharp.
Good things about the folding type are :
Compact
Wont destroy your back pack
Dont stab you when you fall on itVery amusing.
Thanks for sharingJust fixed up my photobucket account you should be able to see the pics again
