    Thanks Nik

I’ll be settling for new fork springs to suit the 120kgs and the shock spring only. I’d love to do the emulators as well, but the new shock will have to wait till the original expires altogether. Budget is tight getting ready for the APC Rally calendar.

Decided to make the best of my stock shock, but with a coil to suit my weight. The only aftermarket shocks I’ve dug up were the Ohlins, Wilbers and Hagon (in that order of quality I think  ).

I’ve decided to let my local mech handle the suspension work, but he will be getting in touch with you to supply him for the correct weight springs for the forks and the replacement coil for the back. Hopefully in the next couple of days you’ll hear from Brad at B&C Motorcycles up here in sunny Newcastle :silly: :silly: .

Thanks for the advice. Any particular aftermarket shock? I’ve seen Hagon, Hyperpro and Wilber on overseas markets, but none the wiser aside from brand and most seem to suggest a progressive spring is the go rather than a linear rate spring. Like most I have a limited budget though I’m not young or foolish enough to think I can get “everything for nothing”. Any or all advice welcome.

Thanks for the welcome guys, and yes Murph I used to ride a highly farkled XR400 over a decade ago (wow, that hurt saying that!) and used to do a lot of the tracks around Sugy and also up around Booral SF. After I passed the XR on I got into 4wding and those tracks in your west side report are very familiar to me.

Thanks guys, I might give Nick a ring tomorrow and chat directly as I’m keen to get the suspension sorted sooner rather than later.

I put a quick intro up as well

    Cheers
