The TCX Comp 2 boots are really good as well, same as the Pro2 except without the bootie.
I had to get the comp2 because they sold out of the Pro 2 in my size. Got mine from BTO Sports.
I did put new softer inner soles in though which helped alot with comfort.
I had fox comp5 before that and the difference is chalk and cheese.
Heeps of movement due to the hinge system and really comfy.

    Gday Teza
    Sounds electrical to me.
I have a drz and it has a switch on the stand that when the stand is down you cannot start the engine in gear but you can start it in neutral.
I dont know if the RMZ is the same but if it is, I would say its a faulty stand switch that is stuck in the open position maybe due to your previous spills up the hill.
You need to cut the wires that run to the switch and join the 2 wires together, or befor you do that, if you have an ohm meter test the switch to see if it is opening and closing.
The switch is located up near the hinge point of the stand.

Thanks to STM and NickJ for organising a really great weekend.
This was my first ride with the NSW old bulls and not knowing what to expect I started out nervously.
The pressure of not being good enough and slowing the group down etc etc was weighing heavy, but after an encouraging talk to NickJ on sweep on Friday helped me to relax and not worry so much. There was always someone to help out in the tricky areas it was fantastic. Thanks to Mick and Moose for sharing the cabin and creeping home Sat night, I didnt hear a thing.
    Thanks to all

Like most of the new mid size 4wd the rear suspension is very soft for a good ride but they hit the bump stops at any more than 700 kg , I had to fit air bags on my hilux to sort it. Also the clutches are useless I’m on my third in 130000km and a mate with a Navara is on his second in 80000. Their are heavy duty clutches avalible but they won’t fit them under warrenty.
I reckon they are all very similar now and apart from resale the hilux isn’t leaps ahead of all the others like it used to be, on price and hindsight I’d go the Navara.

A late model secondhand Hilux will be a lot easier to sell than a late model secondhand Navara.
I would be test driving a new Hilux as well.

    G’day STM
Check out this website, its where people who are not satisfied with their vehicles ask for help or just complain as the title suggests.
Its a great website to just surf and see what dramas occur with new cars and car dealers etc.
    Hope it helps. Gotowo

Compare the Hilux 3.0l diesel with the Navara and you will see there are less complaints with the Hilux.
I had a 08 Hilux diesel. Great car.

I dont understand why the manufacturers especially Suzuki and the drz dont fit better suspension in the factory because the origonal setup is crap.

    One word “Cost”

    TB

The cost for them would be bugger all.
Their cost is the differece between the garbage they are installing now and a decent setup.
We are forced to pay for the garbage and the good gear.
Cost to them would be 5% what we have to pay.
Maybe thats a fair chunk of their profit…….. I dont know.

But what you said TB is a good point……..More than anything it is a safety issue. I recon I’d have half the scratches I got now if I’d done the suspension it when it was new.

I did the same thing on Sunday on the drz400 after getting new springs and valves etc.
Where previously I would be very cautious and tentative eg steep rocky downhill, I can just point the bike and it will go there…….and at more speed. Seems to be more stable with a bit extra speed. Went out for 45minutes and was pushing it more than usual and it was fantastic. Cant wait to go for another ride.

Woooohooo….that is what I yelled out at one stage, going up a tricky hill this arvo. Did a quick 40kms in Bago to give the new suspension a test.I was deliberatly hitting things, like rutts, pot holes and roots to give it a test and it came up trumps!! :woohoo:

I had a funny thing happen while i was in the bush this arvo… I was a long way from anywhere and came around a corner, only to nearly run over a huge big black rooster in really good condition!! He ran off into he lantana in a shower of feathers. Really random

Is it possible to be put on the reserve list for this ride.
That is Gotowo and SK8, we are from Brisbane, ride suzuki’s DRZ400 and DR650. Look forward to meeting all if we get to go. Thanks.

Yeh I know but with my luck something will get damaged.

The crowd up here will dismantle and reassemble everything all Ive got to do is get the bike to them.

G’day Peter (Sirdrop), whats happened to the queensland division of old bulls?
Ive been out a bit with Steve just locally. We are thinking of a ride from Pomona to Kilkivan (stay at the pub) then east to the coast thru forestry back down to Pomona. Will let you know when, if your interested.

in reply to: DRZ upgrade #184343

Thanks very much Brad, it seems the no.s are all correct. But….I am not real keen on packing all my suspension up and freighting it across the country. Ive seen a lot of goods damaged due to transport. I would have no hesitation in getting you to do the job if you were closer. Your references from the fellas here are great.

Peter……… Thanks for organising the ride, it was a great day. That gentle bloody annie is not so gentle, was a hell of a hill. Got the scars (limp actually) to prove it. If anything I’m learning my limitations. Good thing I had the body armour. Shoudnt have had that second attempt. Exhaustion and addrenaline not a good mix. Next time I’ll have a new tyre.

Steve (SK8) on the new dr650 managed to get around relativley unscathed.
Thanks also to John and Ralph good to see you had a good time after lunch. You would have to be buggered today, I am, and only did the morning and 51klm. Steve and I had a relaxing couple of beers and a burger at the Kandanga pub.
Heres another photo of your handywork just to rub it in. am1.jpg

If I wasnt doing Amamoor on Saturday definately would have considered it.
Do you live up that way? It looks like some good riding country. Amamoors a bit further north if your interested, check out the tread.
