Just mentioned you on the Amamoor thread. SK8 and I are doing the Amamoor ride on Saturday.

We go back a few years to high school days in Gympie our first bikes were an old Kawasaki 100 Ag bike and I had an SL125 Honda. Recently found out we live 10mins apart near Beenleigh. Welcome to old bulls and talk to you soon Steve.

morgo………..your talkin my language. What you explained there happened to me. I made an offer on a car and didnt budge on my price, the conman oh! I mean car sales man made about 6 little trips to the head conman oh! I mean dealer principle out the back room in an attempt to get me to increase my price. I consequentley walked out. I was 1/2 way home and got the call that he would accept my price. He wanted me to return to the showroom. I said I didnt feel like driving all the way back to the caryard so he drove to my place. That was a about 12% off an already heavily discounted price. I had been to 1 other caryard prior to this one and they let me walk out so I knew what I was offering was a very good deal.

You need to do some homework and work out what a fair price for your car is and what a fair price is for the car you want. Usually all you need to do is check out carsales.com.au and red book values. Sell your car privately and you will get 20% plus extra for it. Assuming you can be without a car for the interim you then go to the dealer and offer a cash deal. You never ask a car dealer what their best price is because you will never get it. Assume all car dealers are liars and cheats because most of them are.
Since you’ve done your homework you offer the dealer what your prepared to pay then you have the power. Stick to your guns and dont budge from that price. If your buying a new car its easier because if the first dealer lets you walk out go to next dealer and increase your price a bit until you get a sale.
Believe me they will do everything they can to stop you walking out the door.
Whatever price the car is advertised at you should easily get 10% off.

By the way I’m not a car dealer just had few experiences with them.

Sounds like Fraser Is is too hard. Could be a bit monotenous always on sand and hard on the bikes. What about Woodenbong then, is there a pub in Woodenbong? Does anyone live in the area. Where is KTM01? he’s done some riding at Woodenbong, recond it was alright. Does anyone else know the area? Ive been there in 4WD and it was pretty good lots of forestry very green.
What about 13th and 14th June.

Mike, I agree its been a while since the Queensland contingent went for a ride. Here’s a couple of ideas.
Idea 1………What about Fraser Is. stay 1 night or 2. Dont know where to stay or when to go. If a vehicle or 2 was to go then we could also take fishing gear (tailor are running soon)and/or camping gear. Dont have any details just putting it out there.

Idea 2………Could do Rainbow Beach and cooloola area stay the night at the Kin Kin pub.

    Idea 3………Northern NSW?

Are there any other organised rides where we could meet at?

What I have done is use a hammerhead tip only.

You need to remove the original tip from the lever and then fit the hammerhead tip. The hammerdead tips come in 5, 10, 15, or 20mm extra lenth.

To fit the hammerhead tip you will need to drill out a larger hole for the pin and grind away a bit of the original lever so the tip ends up at right angles to the lever, probably about 1 hours work.

Not sure how much the tip only is because Michael at mainmoto imports provided it free of charge after I tried to get a KX450 lever to fit, it doesnt by the way (finer spline). I sent him photos and details for fitting the tip only, so to his credit he said return the lever less the tip. A lever and tip is about $140.00.

in reply to: DRZ race sag #125459

Apparently the recommended race sag for the DRZ400 is 85mm+-3mm and static sag is 25mm+-5mm.
My final No.s after turning the spring adjuster a total of 5 turns down are race sag 92mm and static sag 23mm.This will be my start point after riding at original OEM settings.
Now I need to make some dampening adjustments

in reply to: DRZ race sag #125458

Thanks Scotty will make those adjustments but how will that affect the steering wont that put more weight on the front wheel. Have you moved your forks lower in the clamps?

Huski610………. My DRZ400 felt a bit the same but I havent made any suspension adjustments since new. There is a good thread preparation tips titled Setting your suspension sag may be worth a look. I’m going to do that as soon as I clean the bike. Firstly I’ve got to walk properly because I think I’m in more pain today than yesterday.
