    Good idea ollie

Cattle dog is in training for shed duties

But that’s the sort of thing I’m after, I know I can’t stop them if they really want it, just to let me know if it gets moved at night with a really big noise is the trick I’m thinking.

I had an Engle knocked off the back of my ute out the front of my bedroom window last year, it was bolted down from underneath and shackled on top with 316 stainless buckles and the bastards still took it from under my nose, pissed me off to no end cos I had it for the best part of 16 years.

That’s why I’m thinking of something that screams loud and my dog for back up.

    Lol
Got me a cattle dog she’s coming along nicely

I’m currently looking at a magnum or gorilla system.
These have engine immobiliser in them but I’m more interested in the mercury switch so if they are moved at all the alarm goes off

Disc lock sounds interesting as well, might keep looking around as the systems don’t seem to cost a lot of money

    Lol yea
But it’s the missus I’m more worried about once she gets it in her head there is no changing it

Went for first real ride this arvo,
Steering feels different from old ktm may be its the 140 rear tire on it ,
Seems to push the front around a lot rear bogs in and stands the bike up straight through corners.

Dumped a lot of coolant this arvo thermo fan never cut in, it did yesterday up the dam but not today.
    Have to investigate tomorrow

Apart from that its pretty cool to ride
    Upside so far
    1 it’s new and shiny
2 heaps of power and comes on nice and easy
3 main components are good quality like chain and stuff
    4 hydraulic clutch
    5 electric start

    Downside
1 little things like plastic reservoir covers
    2 cheap ass indicator switches
3 not sure of the handling, but I’m not a good rider either

We will see how she goes

    Cheers Harold

in reply to: Solar hot water, worth the expense? #249602

Not sure of the mains power ones but I have spent the last 12 months studying stand alone power systems for when I start building on our block,
Geez there is a lot to think about but from my investigations so far any thing German made is considered supreme but a bit pricy.
All depends on how much you want to spend,

The house I’m renting has a solar heart hot water system with a huge tree rite in front of it and our hot water bills are only around the 7 to 8 dollar mark per quater because it only uses power very rarely,
We have a lot of sun here in Central Queensland so that helps out heaps.
Best advice I got from one of the stand alone power mobs was spend 100 bucks on a weather station and see how much sun you are exposed to in your area then you can get a system that is most efficient.

    Hope this helps

If I’m still home Sunday I’m going to head up to the dam cos I’m still waiting to do the QRide thing.
It books out really quick and I don’t get much notice on the gas rig when I’m coming home.
Ill pm ya on Friday to see where you are up to if ya like
