Quote:Yeah I probably could try the old charge her up and go, but I would rather have the peace of mind knowing she has a new battery in her until I get the kick start organised, polly400 has on his bike and I should have knicked it on the last cells ride       I will also be looking into a trickle charger as well.Boony
Most important thing boony, when you get your new battery, put it straight on the charger for a full 24hrs(ctek) http://www.batteriesdirect.com.au/shop/product/10571/xs4003.html, so that it gets a complete and full charge. Batteries these days need chargers which cycle not just punch it in. This way the plates will be at there max and will last longer.

Quote:Just got off the phone from a dejected TB. Unfortunatly it rained “Like forty bastards” last night and the boys have had to make the decision to abort their plans of going to Camerons Corner. It was reported that Moose woke up with a swimming pool in his tent and he had to wring out his riding gear for today. They are now waiting back at Yunta, hoping that the service vehicle can make it back there through the mud. The amended trip will now include a 200km blacktop run to Broken Hill and then onto Silverton, where they have booked a bunk house and are going to keep drinking untill they get locked up.Apparently Boony, they have decided that it is all your fault.
what a bunch of pussy’s an inch of rain and it’s all over, sooks,
Nah really, what a bummer, all that work, bad luck fellas

Quote:Definately be there early Saturday Morn.As much as I’d like to stay on Saturday night…………..I can’t allow myself to!!
You see….5 years ago, to this very weekend…..TB, me and a few others did a ride from near Goodman ford (near Wombeyan Caves) to Hampton Pub for the night (there’s actually a few very good stories about that trip)….but I’ll leave that until our next ‘bench racing session’
ANYWAY,
what I’m getting to is……That Saturday night, 2005, was when the Tigers smashed the Dragons and went on to win the Grand Final!!!!
So…….as you can see, logic and superstition dictate that……there is NO WAY I can be ANYWHERE NEAR the Hampton Pub THIS Saturday night!

That was quick ollie, we don’t get the chance to pounce on his lack of knowledge very often

Quote:You need to check that boiling spec Hatto, 200 degs. 200 degrees celsius would be a fair claim to fame as water boils at 100 c there abouts and glycol under 15psi pressure boils around 114 – 117 c in our diesels on the dyno :blink:It cant be 200 fahrenheit either cause thats only 93 c
I am curious as the the correct spec because its bloody good stuff, but I dont think its that good, although as always I could be wrong

Sorry, 190 degrees, read above

This is the stuff you probably got Hatto
Its not Engine Ice its a fully synthetic liquid.
http://motorcyclecoolant.com.au/
Cost me $35 for a litre
Its good stuff
At $35 a litre it would want to be good. That is dearer than Wild Turkey!!
Turkey slaps are bad for your health Mick, get off em
$35 or cooked engine, I choose $35

Thats the “ICE” coolant
Oh Ok, I don’t look, just take Mal on his word and give him the coin.
In That case, Riggs, I have used ICE and have not had any issues of late – but summer is coming and that will change things.

Sorry for not having any info on this ride, there has been a few things going on which have only just been able to get replies. As a starting point, we fell short of the numbers required for this ride to go ahead, I put some things forward to the tour operator (in relation to your feedback)and had a few emails too and fro but things just didn’t stack up for us so I halted proceedings.
I then approached a different tour operator which would have been very similar, numbers were tight(16-18 seem to be the magic number) and availability for that period in November could not be achieved.
So at this stage this ride will not be going ahead in November.
I have had some discussions with TB and have started to do some ground work for a High Country Ride next year March/April – As you can appreciate, this is a long way in advance and hard to lock in, but I am trying to make this an event which is both cost effective(value for money)and worth the effort by everyone considering the distances to travel
I think I will start a new thread and put this one to bed so that there is no confusion.
Please think about next year and the major events which may conflict with a ride around March/April, so that we don’t organise over top of one.
I saw the link Menace, so will investigate.
Sorry for this situation guys, but hopefully we will get there in the end
cheers Hatto
Just a Bump to make sure all read.
