    I’ll do another shorter punchier one this evening, too much info, not enough fact and explains too much.

    And then fax it to your local representative if you wish.

    BC

    i’m in, Bruce maybe we need something in there about making registration reachable(more affordable) so that more people are inclined to take it up rather than go without. I’m not good at this sort of thing bruce, but am willing to be part of, with some ideas, and I will definately send to pollies. Lets take the time to get the wording/content right – then send it to the members in the post, that way they have to respond(their obligation under parliament representative).
    Lets not forget the fact that this is State not Federal

    As of June 2009 there is

    * 300,000 active or latent riders
    * 162,000 registered motorcycles
    * 114,000 unregistered off-road motorcycles
    * 480,000 motorcycle licenses held by residents

    thats a lot of votes

    I’ve had some success using this service, you tell them what you are doing and they send out to a group of freighters and come back with prices

    the sponsors for this site are great and really do look after us, i think this has been discussed before but IMO maybe all members should be given a member number – which in turn they give to the sponsors when dealing with them. this would verify their membership and also protect our sponsors

    cheers Hatto

    And what in turn stops members from giving that number to their wooduck mates? Recently a member wanted to buy bulk tyres for his mates that weren’t members and didnt want to become members but they then turned up on our birthday ride for the fun and ride but still didnt want to be members so what do we do?This is a bit rude, why not become members, it’s free for gods sake, whats up with that member :S – he/she should be getting them to become members.
    Nothing stops them from giving to wooduck mates, but that is certainly not in the spirit of old bulls. Member need to remember that sponsorship is a two way street and without membership, that deal wouldn’t be there – (don’t bite off the hand that feeds you)

    I will sort a membership number out Hatto in the next month or so ;) might help a little, but prob only if sponsors could cross reference/database

    Our sponsors are fantastic, I deal with the all as OBT and they are enthusiastic very helpful if they are not as I just described them I would like to know because that is why they have been selected. We dont have a Honda or Yamaha dealer (both which I own) because we haven’t found a dealer we would or have had recommended. Basically I am saying on the whole our sponsors are here because of their support and service not just because they threw dollars at us.here here, and in turn we should support them if we can. Members need to remember that we benefit from them as much as they us.

    Hello All,
    Being new to this OBT thing i have a question :unsure:
    I am going to Suttos this week to buy a couple of things and would like to take advantage of the sponsors discount :)
    Is there somehing that i should be doing / saying to identifying myself, other than “i am a OBTs member” :unsure:
    Is there a secret hand shake? or something involving a goat :silly:
    I was wondering because any joe Lunchbox could walk in off the street and say he was an OBT member and take advantage of the discount!

    Thanks TB, i feel much better about the “i like kissing men” thing :)
    The fact is that although i am open to new experiences i was a little worried about the whole goat issue :unsure:
    So, just so i get this right when i go to Suttos i have to say “Mal & TB like kissing men” to the first person i meet and that will get me a discount :woohoo:
    Couldn’t be easier!

    i wouldn’t bring Mal into it, he is a very upstanding citizen in the community, whereas Tb, well….. :P

    Hey Kram… I painted my hubs myself.. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts… I rekon a good powder coat or anodize is the go.. If you have the coin just buy Talon pre-colored hubs.. for some reason the Anodizers we used didn’t want to do our hubs just the rims..

    were the hubs already anodised, If they were, this would be why they did not want to do again. When you re anodise you have to double etch for a longer period, this will actually reduce the wall thickness, which in turn will prob make bearings Etc not fit as well – if you wanted to change the colour this could not be done
