    Is it just me or are all the KTM die hard riders very quiet on this thread, I mean I thought there would have been a lot more talk here regarding it. I have read on an overseas forum this morning a lot of for and against for the whole thing.
    Will it make a difference, havent some of the bikes been produced there for sometime, I know a few of the popular engines have been

    To tell you the truth, I haven’t got a clue where any of the components are made, I know it is Austrian company but that doesn’t mean anything these days. Like golf clubs – 95% of brands and designs are made in 1 factory in china under different licenses/brand names – so a honda could be made in bangladesh :laugh: 😆 😆

    Wiki:
    A steering damper, steering stabiliser or sprint damper is a damping device designed to inhibit an undesirable, uncontrolled movement or oscillation of a vehicle steering mechanism (a phenomenon known in the motorcycling community as ‘wobble’, or in extreme cases, a ‘tank-slapper’). Modern motorbikes are unlikely to exhibit this behaviour in daily use thanks in part to better dampers and due to their very stiff front ends and other general improvements in design and tyre technology.

    Not that wiki is always right by any means, but no mention of the word “dampener” there at all. :)

    My Take is
    Dampner = no such word

    Damper = made with flour, and you eat it

    So it has to be Dampener

    Thats my story and I’m sticking to it :laugh: :laugh: ;)

    No idea on dampers, I’ve not used one. But is it “dampner” or “damper”? Always thought it was meant to be “damper”…

    Google seems to think I am right, but that’s nothing to write home about! (Dear Mum, today I found out…)

    I thought dampener – because you are dampening something not damping something ??
