My husky had a breather going to the rear of the airbox to burn of vapours i guess. Re routed it to under the seat and stuck a mini pod on the hose end, as i remember reading sopmething about it playing havoc with the Carb slide?
Thanks mate..
yea, the PDF on how to go about settng the bike up for where you ride. Sadly, Funds are tight so i make do with what i got. ( or can afford to do). I now have 3-4 settings I use depending on where I ride. The biggest point of difference is I now got an Idea of what i was trying to achieve/ why I was doing what i was doing. the Sag on my bike cant be correct as My wieght is more than the rear is designed to live with, by adjusting it to as close as possible to where its meant to be, then dialling in the clickers for the different ground structures, I now got a ride that is more pleasure than Pain.. LOL, I have So sampled way more dirt about this place than I ever wanted.. a few more tweaks as I can afford them will no doubt make more diference again. Just need to be making $’s first so as I can send my Forks /rear shock to these lads to wave their magic wands over them.
Damn it.. just logged in to see I missed out on a ride up and about the Towers with the master of tracks/Sirdropalot
Been at the Beach all morning, home for a scalding pie lunch, chased down with Anti-Inflammatory of the Beer kind..Have the back area sorted for a BBQ and Rumbo evening..
Prawns/ chops and t-bones for an Aussie day evening here.. naturally lubricated with Bundabergs Finest…
Come Hell Or High water them blokes deliver.. canna ask for betta. Not being an expert on this and there fore may sound real stupid, but i found with my bike the suspension worked real well for one type of ground surface but got real scary on another, where i am, we have roughly 3 kinds of terrain I ride on mostly and have found 3 settings for the clickers which made my riding feel a bit more conected with the dirt..instead of me connecting with the dirt.. using my bike now as a daily commute also, i use a totally different clicker position to the dirt riding ones. I now know what settings i want before i leave home, I adjust accordingly. is only a matter of a few clicks one way or the other. Does anyone else do this ? ( has taken a lot of experimenting to find what suited me best )
I too agree on the Noise issue as being the major front for complaints being laid against bikes. On the errosion side, One of the bigger causes of errosions is people running through puddles at speed non stop and wheel spinning to get to the top of hills as mentioned.( again, the errosion we cause is a pittance to the clowns with thier huge MUD digger tyres in 4×4’s) Here in Maryborough there is a petition to have the local Bike track closed due to NOISE. Doesn’t matter said track has been in operation for years, the Speedway is coming under the same fire, again due to noise and its been here since Noahs boat got grounded. I decided against a power pipe for my bike due to cost and the added noise it would create. In our local paper some time back a family were complaining about the noise of the bikes in their area and the time it took for Plod to react to their complaints. To give an Idea on the mentality of these people,I wrote back in the Paper that perhaps they would like to help petition the council for an area where the Bike riders could go to enjoy their bikes without being a nuisance to Mr Average Joe who wants them out the way. My reply was, ” It is not my responsibility to help you and your ilk to petition the local and State government for you and others to go riding your motobikes, this is not MY concern nor is it my fight to fight. I have no Interest in your chosen sport and will not spend my efforts in assisting you with such a petition.” Needless to say, the Gent just couldnt understand that it is HIS fight, as he is one who is fighting to have the Bikes removed from his area. Today, when I ride in our local tracks, where these tracks come near houses I for one throttle off and go by at a sedate pace with minimum noise and minimum Impact. Its a small price to pay to keep our tracks alive here.
Look out NSW and Vic, all our Inland water is on its way to you all, not to mention the weather pattern is now shifting towards you all. Take care all, Be safe.
After I bought my Bike, i worked out what size sockets it needed, came down to basically an 8mm, 10mm, 12mm for general work so I bought those 3x sockets in 3/8 drive and a Kinchrome ratchet to go with it. I have the wheel spanner in the bikes tool kit for front/rear wheel. a pair of tyre levers, and a couple of small screwdrivers. This method allowed me to buy decent quality on a small budget and means i didnt end up with a socket set with 7/10ths of it never to be used. things like Pliers , wire strippers, cutters etc I already had. my wife bought me an battery powered Multi tool which i find vfery useful, it came with an assortment of small socket/screwdriver fittings. makes removeal of bolts , hex heads etc somewhat easy and quicker.
