I also use K&N air filters, and they have very little restriction and you have to rejet to use them most times, they are so easy to use and clean that picture wasnt my filter it was just one I googled

Ok, now i read this part, I retract my statement about the Twin air/K&N

I’ve just tried a CHUX. Cleaned my filter, re-oiled it and oiled up the Chux. Allowed to dry o/night. Bike seems sluggish? T.B. Was I meant to oil the Chux? Or just lay it over the Filter?( couldn’t imagine it’d do much without the filter oil on it?)

TB goes so slow he wouldn’t notice the loss:laugh:

And he’s showing me a pic of his “Twin Air” filter and saying he’s using K&N Filters?

They would be DRZ400S, they come in blue and in some places also white, SM in black. With the E model being yellow and the KLX variant green about the only colous ya can’t get for a DRZ is orange or red. What sort of freak would want those colours anyway.

How much fun would it be being trailbike cop in San Franciso, I bet you would be able to get plenty of air time just riding around town. :woohoo:

Yeah, right up until some clown empties a Glock in your direction…or a .44 or .other big ass magnum. I reckon it’d be ok here. Where we are the Cops get around on the DRZ 400′ too. They even catch a few MX ers  .. I couldnt think of too many better ways to spend you day..riding single track looking for Unrego’d/stolen bikes etc. Just the part of being a Cop would suck…oh, and the paperwork! 😆

Nah ………It’s Good Tiny. I’m happy with the O-Ring at present. Now I’ve scrolled through the Parts book, I found what i was looking for. Which asks the question. What model is your bike? Do you have a need for a manual and parts manual ,If it’s suitable for your bike?? I have one for the 07, but i think the Motors were the same for a few years. Maybe some of the frame bits and electrrical too? If it helps I will run off a disk and mail?

When I first got my Husky, i took tools everywhere with me. When I Binned my husky, none of the tools were any use, I had to push the bike home for surgery anyway. Now I wonder at the idea of taking them with me. I worry about flats, apart from that, if something fails, I keep thinking that without a spares list as long as my arm, what can you fix? I keep my maintenence up on the bike, more than religously, so i reckon shes’ right. ( I guess from reading this that putting the Toolkit that came with my bike, on top of the battery, where its designed to go, isnt smart?) Does anyone zip tie their tyre levers to the frame? I’ve been giving it some thought..in the subframe area????

1990 CR 250! It was my 3rd CR and My last. There was something about the front rake that i just couldnt come to terms with. It got some serious attitude at speed on hard dirt, generally resulting in the front washing out from under me….now with some more age and smarts, i figure i may have been able to sort it…maybe? On the Italajets..My stepfather and his mate were importers in S.A.(also OSSA or were involved in them someway or another) for a while, way back in late 60’s or early 70’s( wasnt with my old girl then) He and said mate had a lot to do with S.A. mini-bikes/speedway got to in the Whyalla area. Apparently they were some serious goons. The old man entered a Ferret MK.2 scout car into a smash up derby…because the car nominations were done with engine not car make. They listed a Rolls Royce. entered the Feret. Werent allowed to play :( He has some interesting Scrap books from that era.

Hi Ollie, sought of thought about making one, but didnt want to mess it up. I bought an O-ring…large one that is, and did a weird loop . Scored a bonus, the O-ring is thick enough it also works like a vibration deadener. Bike is smoother to ride?? $2.00 Job :) on the down side, i found a part number for one, I reckon my bike has never had one? just a bit of pissy Y shape rubber which cant hold it still. Thanks all.

Now to show off my great mechanicals skills and knowledge…Why does a Carby “breathe” through drain hoses? I just assumed the carby did all its Breathing through the throat….I have read about these hoses before and just assumed the drain. ..Now i got to go to the manual and read…. :(

No way…..i was just wondering? LOL…I bypass many an opportunity with my rig…believe me. Where we ride, i wouldnt entertain it “Sirdropalot” as there is TOO big a chance of being Drilled by a fist+ size rock :) ..and your tyre didnt have enough track left on it to spit anything anyway..:)) No..its all good. Just curious? and no..you dont gotta worry about dodging rocks either.
