Pete, last time I went over a log like that, it was at the Towers, on the lip of a rise coming out af a water ravine.. to the right of that log just on the other side used to be a dead tree… it cost me two broken fingers, one busted knuckle.. the upside.. the missus allowed me to splurge on those handgaurds/bar set up lol. I’d have a crack at that log there.. but Not that unit TB posted, or try to go over the one from the original post. I bet it isnt that dry there at the moment..

I know this is going to sound real retarded.. but why not just go around it? is plenty of room :D

No way id even try it.. i got visions of someone needing a shovel to un bury me after I do a triple pike and plant my silly self head first in the dirt. ( or into the log )

We got 2 dumps here, one on the north side and one on the eastern side, I have been out on the eastern side, across the road from the dump on some tracks, Punching around a corner to find an old rusted boat trailer on its side blocking the tracks. the Morons took the wheels and hubs .. a bit of thought they could have taken it to the damn scrap metal yard and got a dollar or two for it. for some, its just a matter of not giving a damn about anything other than themselves and being too dumb to think. They dont make me mad.. its closer to furious.

We got the same kind of Fkwits here, seems there’s no controlling what kind of inbreds are allowed to breed. Sadly, one particular place here is so heavily dumped its no longer a ridable place unless you like pulling Nails and steel from the wheels.

I have done some more reading on this and found that apparently the DRZ400’s gear shift has a bit of a hook on the inside of it, filing this off seems to do wonders in helping to preserve th ecase on that side.. Brake lever side.. No Idea

Cape York tours use 3 mm. and Sikaflex to hold them on.

I have replaced it recently but th eissue started a fair while after. I might purchase another bulb, some more fuses and see if its the problem. I have been mulling this problem over now for a month and have learnt more about electrical wiring than i ever thought i wanted to know..

The lads up north who do the Cape york trip, do all their DRZ’s with a piece of alluminium cut into the right diameter and Silicone them into place. Not sure what a bit of 1 or 2 mm alluminium is worth but im guessing you could get it cheaper than the “made “Products. Also,I’m guessing that these people wouldnt bother with it if it wasnt warranted ? They have a link somewhere of the Mods they do to their bikes before they go into service. I would think to that the Kimberly tours people would be doing the same?

Sorry this is real late to jump in but im somewhat busy and barely get pC time and so with that, i will now add my tiny bit to this. Since buying my bike in 07, i have used 3 x Bike shops in this local area and now refuse to go back to either( Idiots and ali babi mentality ). I have found a neat little bike mechanic shop which i use for ALL mechanical work, recently dropping near 1k for some simple things like renewing fork oil, new C/S sprocket, rear sprocket, Chain, swing arm greasing, rear susp. points serviced. I have bought from OS a set of hand guards, mirrors, bars, raisers and lenghtened clutch cable at a Pittance for what i could have by buying here( provided i could actually find here). I would dearly love to have a performance Pipe/jst kit thrown at my bike the Pipe i wish for is made in NSW. Why is it i can purchase this NSW made Pipe from the USA,delivered to my door at near $250.00 cheaper? It cant be the middle man as this pipe can be bought factory direct? how does it get to be so much cheaper after crossing the puddle twice ?

well, if it’s been stolen for the “wrecker” market.. it works. If it’s been stolen for Joy riding..its not much use. Then there’s those who steal for backyard “upgrades”.. basically the idea is Datadot stops the “vehicle being broken down for Spareparts in the Wrecker Industry” though.IMHO, our Courts work with the Insurance system. They let “baggers” off because it keeps the Industry in the forefront of peoples mind.just my outlook though.

I can introduce you to two mates of mine that lost thier cars( both HSV) , they were DATADOTTED, no one has come back with anything after a couple of years. Put the money into full comprhensive insurance. At the least, you get a bike to ride agian, instead of a report. Also, a big dog does wonders.
