MOTO, by Ti..do you mean Titanium? If yes, have you got the littler shields on the header? I hear they can get pin holes in them? Akrapovic make a nice system for these but $1800 is a touch high…Would be nice though..

Yeah…I’ll try as i go..I have no issue with overheating to date, been in some very tight spots in very Humid heat..mates DRZ boiled, te 510 boiled..te610 Purrrrrrrrrrrrred all day..snarled a few times, bruised me a few times, but kept on purring. Strange i haven’t burnt riding pants but I sure have melted some side plates…LOL.

No, the pipe goes from the rocker cover to the frame, from the frame into the motor, on the inside of the Airfilter..which is why i pissed it off. It’s only reason for being is anti-pollution, just seems stupid to have it go direct to the engine like it did. At the least, i reckon it should breathe onto the filter, not bypass it. Noew it just doesnt get anywhere near it. ( I’ll get around to Aralditing the mesh down…oneday)

that’d be them…Is this only an issue for KTM..or is it across the board problem?? I dont want to outlay for them if i dont need them. makes me wonder, if they’re needed, why aren’t they already on them? Would it upset the running if i pushed some stocking into the tubes? Sorry if a sound a dumb nut..it’s natural. 😆

Apparently pool filter skins are cheaper than bike-specific ones but are exactly the same. Yet to test the theory, but intend to do so shortly considering the amount of dust around and the forecast for bugger-all rain in the next month or so!

Thats right ECKS-man, bought a pack of three today for the pool $7.00, had the same thought as I was fitting one to the pool skimmer basket. I always run filter skins so I am going to try one next time.

There ya go mate. The mounting bolt on the rear of the box was left inside of the box, made it easier to construct that way. He was a touch out on the front angle but he didnt get the bike until it was time to mount it, place the front tab.Note the amount of box cut away from the rear. this is now a good 1/2 inch of the frame. Also the lack of oil reburn pipe, which is now tucked up under the seat next to the top of the rear shock. it is breathing through a mini pod(k/n) filter. Previously it just dumped hot oil squarely on the slide in the Carby. not good for performance nor economy..IMHO is a stupid idea..only good for tree huggers. Hope this is of value for you. ;)

I see “Karma” written a lot on this site…KTMRAT…beware. karma will come looking for you. mate of mine directs me down a Sandy track, Moguls all over the place…You’ll need to open it up, get it to float across the sand he says. Well here I am trying to haul ass across this this track when suddenly, in the middle of the track, between two huge holes is a fricken queen size mattress. Fortunately, my old girl lifted over the lot..My MATE! following REAL close behind me, waiting to watch me go freddie up, didnt jump it, he got a hell of alot of sudden traction, lifted over the second lump and faceplanted.. Popped his shoulder, ruined his week. His mate called it KARMA. 😆

Moto, the heat is phenomenal. I got a 3deg. burn on the right bicep, trying to hump the thing into the back of a ute. it touched me for just a frag of a sec…@#@$%^ thing !! I’m looking at tossin the heat shields and using pipe wrap. i reckon it will drop off heat and LOOK better too….maybe..:S

That sounds like a poor design. The good thing about my Ti exhaust is that is has reduced the heat of the silencer section to a temperature that you can touch with your hand. Even after a hard ride!

Some heat wrap may be a good idea by the sounds of it :)

I have some serious plans for the whole system. I want to piss the ugly heat shields off and throw a barrett on the end of it. Heat wrap from the header back to the slip on. I’ve heard just puttng a barrett on it drops some serious heat. The heat shields just rattle/vibrate.I hate sounds like that coming from the bussiness area.

Never expect anything from anyone, you never get surprised that way..KTMRAT, how long did it take to realise the fish die before they mix the fuel oil in the Tank for you? Is this why you keep 400 handy?
