Ps Curlyman.check the footpeg mounts on your bike..sometimes they have a touch of weld or slag to upset the mating surfaces, file/grind them flat..or you could experience the snapped footpeg syndrome..snapped peg/ swollen knee and ankle..if not broken. it seems to be a bugbear of Husky TE 610’s for a few years???

Tiny keeps breaking foot pegs, wonder if this could have anything to do with why.

    Chris

Tiny has never broken a foot peg Chris, the bolts break because of the poor design and Tiny’s, well, not Tiny!

I’ll bet a buck ..if he cleans thte mating surfaces ….no more probs. they have weld and uneven surfaces…hit em a file..Job done. ;)

Nick. :)

700 cc’s of maico madness…………bet it revs just like a d9 dozer too.( app. 4000 is it?) Would be AWESOME in desert racing….all that torque to punt you over sand dunes and beyond.. These are the engines used in the ATK’s as well. I think cannondale too use it. So …..who’s up for the big bore kit then???

I read in ADB blokes just changing the pipe made it run like crap…. I,m waiting for the bike shops to re-open as the dealer said he found a pipe that may be compatible…

you can throw a LEO VINCE X3 on it no propbs. i think it comes with all the Goodies for the FI. to cope with it. Apparently they get rather loud when your under it though. I still reckon you should check out the Cafehusky site though. they will answer anything, help out with any tech stuff as well. Those crazies are running them from sea level to 14,000 feet, just to see if the Injection can handle it??? I still think its nobbled somewhere? the Cats shouldnt make a diff. to it. PS> the pipe has a pair of them in it…explains why it gets soo bloody hot…So many burns Have I.

What a great site for old bulls and congratulations on the name. I recently rented a drz 400 and spent the weekend with 2 old mates (we used to ride together in high school) riding rainbow beach and associated tracks. Loved it so much bought a new drz 400 and now looking to meet and ride with like minded blokes.
My bike is just run in 400klm still have to get some gear and fit sump guard , barkbusters and a new tail/brakelight assly and probably radiator guard. Never had a bike with a radiator before. Last bike I owned was more than 20yrs ago Montesa 250 enduro prior to that Honda SL125.
I live in Ormeau (between brisbane and Goldcoast)where there are a few local tracks, havent explored them throughly yet. Looking forward to meeting up with you all at the next Qld event.

G’day gotowo, as said before great name, another Qld Gerry bull here. I have the green version of yours, the klx 400 they are good bikes for us old fellas starting out again. Ktmrat you have my blessings to pick on my green one  all my friends do…….or maybe its the rider they pick on, either or fine with me:laugh:. I am a fair bit north of Brisbane but get down that way a bit so will try to meet some of you guys for a ride. Hav’nt worked roster forward yet to see if working or not on organised ride weekend but if not will try to get there and bring along some other old bulls who can’t work computers .

Sirdropalot…I’m guessing that Avatar of yours is a pic. taken in the Takura area?? That hill, looks VERY familiar…I’m wondering if you found any bits and pieces of a Husky up that way? LOl… What part of Fraser coast are you at? I’m sittng in Maryborough..not much happening here atm.? Interested in hooking up for rides in local area at all? I dont ride overly quick most times…but I like to get out when i can. riding solo is a drag..and dangerous ..

.Hi tiny..check the mounting points of your pegs…apparently they have habit of not being flush..= footpeg snaps /bent bolts….Have you opened up the airbox any?I’ve gotten a couple of hyuge holes over the inlet..seems to liven it up a touch…

Thanks for the tip i will check it out… as far as i know our motors are identical with the exception of E.F.I which i thought would be a good thing…. maybe not such a good thing. My gearing is the same also and i’ve got my KTM300 for fast bush i got the big girl for more touring type riding so sounds like i made a good choice, I hope.

.yeah,I’ve heard that too. have you had it on the dirt yet? I hear they’re rather harsh up front? I weigh in at 110kg..Bike pullls well all the way up to 160 ish.. I still have the stock pipe. maybe they have corked it somewhere around the throttle assembley?? I had issues with my airbox, be cautious with bolt tensions for airbox. Other than that, keep an eye on rear sprocket bolts and most others too, they seem to enjoy shaking loose…Loctite city and wire retainers are good idea.
