i do my bikes every 6 months with a grease at singarm pivot and linkage bolts this is a problem for any bike, the cr i rebuilt i had to put the frame into a press to push the swingarm bolt out it was that siezed up,
for the cost of a couple of cans of bourban and a cartridge of grease on a friday night every 6 months its a simple but effective part of your maintenance

finally got a chance to take it out at stroud today met hoffy at the treatment plant and he took me on his 85km practice loop alot of tight single with a sprinkling of good flowing singles with some nice hill climbs,
Its been pretty much 2 years since ive gone for a ride at stroud let alone in the bush so i was a bit anxious about how the day was going to go but i got a tell you when your riding a mountain bike with a motor it makes it a bit easier, seriously this sherco 300 was just that good from suspension to weight surprisingly the power, from being caught out a gear to high on a climb it lugged out to the top which i just wasnt expecting from a 300 4T to sailing down a steep descent with no big bike weight to make you go in an uncontrolable slide .
As i said its the first time ive been in the bush in a couple of years ( i have been riding but doing MX, ponyxpress) and as the day went on i was getting the confidence of hitting the nasty rutted hill climbs that i havent been doing with the WP suspension doing such a great job i just having so much fun on it and at the end of the day i was feeling pretty good even though was up to nowhere near the pace of hoffy , threw him the bike to him for a while , he loved it
if your got to believe in the product you sell ….after today im a believer

Not to be ripped off as badly as I have been.

A good example. I had only just thrown my leg over a bike after an absence of 25 years.

In these early days of newbie bike ownership I rather stupidly thought that you should have your bike serviced at a “reputable” dealer.

I got an incredibly steep bill from a shop near where I live. Almost eye popping in it’s size for a relatively standard service.

A fist fight in the car park with the service manager was seconds away, so rudely was I spoken to by this bloke when I questioned the size of the bill.

They charged me for 4 litres of oil (my bike at the time took 2.5 max) at $120.00. On the way out I noticed (through the red mist) that on their specials table they had the same oil, in a four litre container, for 80 bucks!

Needless to say, I have never set foot in the joint again and it would be the last place on God’s own earth I would ever buy a bike from. I learned pretty quickly that servicing the bike yourself is both enjoyable and cheap. (I’m talking about minor stuff, not top end re-builds!)

    Really! (rant over)

dont take this the wrong way i only want to ask the question.
did they tell you how much it was going to cost before hand i.e how much for labour how much for parts? and if there was any additional parts replaced did they get in touch with you , if not would that be the way you would have liked it handled

Great info keep it coming, but what specific products would you need. ?? That seem to be used a lot but hard to get

-Powerbands, in all the cool colours

    – Common sense, though not used a lot but needed all the time

Would u like some V8 juice to go with that powerband and anyway if your hanging around with my brother those 2 strokes would probably scare you anyway B)
