Got to love the colour coded riding gear.

They were some Polo’s that one of the Yamaha IT forum members got made up, went down a treat…

I gather you don’t have to have all original running gear for viduro racing. Modifications are acceptable?

It doesn’t have to be all orginal however It’s meant to be ‘period correct’. Technically if you fitted a head and tail light to a 1984 model YZ (that had a disc brake front end) it would be fine for a Vinduro. As long as the bike is sporting parts pre 1985 (that is the cut-off for Vinduro) then all is well. Carry on models that weren’t changed post 1985 are also OK (drum brake XR’s, DT’s etc). The main aim is PRE 1985.

    Hmm nice disc brake modification
    Well done
Can’t remember the 490 having discs
Was well over 25 years since I owned one though ;)
    Cheers

The 490 had a twin-leading drum brake front end, however that didn’t do a very good job of pulling the old girl up.
The disc makes it much better! :)

I am having problems with my bike overheating in tight single trail.

Has anyone tried engine ice ? i have been told this will fix my problems.

Strange that such a new machine would be overheating. What have you done thus far to try and diagnose the problem?

Not a lot of vinduro bikes on here just a few old fossil XR `S.

They might not be on here but there’s still plenty OUT THERE. :)

Love the old school ITs, Crash started on one of those a 175 if memory serves me well. Had a IT250 years ago it only ran for a week 😆

Why did it only run for a week?
