Depending on where you ride, look out for ruts, got my Husky lowered, only by 25mm but found I am sticking in ruts more than before.
Teknik did the lowering for me.

This sort of thing always surprises me, I ride with no skill whatsoever, have done for 28 years or more now and have never had a day of work with a bike injury. Yep I crash and have had a few fractures (minor) but must have been real lucky i recon. Yet a Guy with this miuch talent bites the bullet WTF!!! :(
Real shame to see such an awesome rider go, aparently he had retired too which makes it even worse.
    Vale Mika

Kiwarrak was my favourite riding area back in the day, might have to hook up with you and revisit if thats OK with you, especially if there is single track now, the hills there used to be awesome! I recon i could still find most of them but only using the fire trail.

You gonna give a Ride Grading for this one Murph ?
Having read your ride reports suspect that even with only 3 hoills it might be a 5+

Used to be about 20 years ago Ollie :( , the Rumble boys were in charge then, haven’t met the most recent Club management team. Not that much into racing these days, have trouble making time for trail rides let alone racing.

    Keep me in the loop,

Happy to go on reserves list if you’ll have me Ollie.
Dungog’s my home riding area and I live down the road about 15 minutes from the showground so don’t need accomodation.

I’ve gotta say I think we have done pretty well over the past 3.5 years, considering some horror stories I have heard about other forums etc,

I have also now upgraded the forum software to the latest v1.7 if you spot any issues post in this thread as I need to go and do real work now..

    Chris.

The Kunena team has now released Kunena 1.7.0 as a native Joomla extension for J! 1.5.23, J! 1.6.6 and J! 1.7.0. This is a security release and replacement† for Kunena 1.5 and 1.6 and all users are recommended to upgrade to Kunena 1.7.0. Backup and testing are strongly recommended! K 1.7.0 makes all previous releases of Kunena obsolete and all users of prior Kunena releases are urged to upgrade as soon as possible.
    Image:History_clear.png
Kunena 1.7.0 announces the end of support for Kunena 1.5.

Support for K 1.5 will cease one month after the release of K 1.7.

In order to achieve interoperability with all of J! 1.5, J! 1.6 and J! 1.7, several important matters in Kunena have been attended to before the next major release of Kunena 2.0 later this year. Some users of third-party templates written for older versions of Kunena will find that their templates may not work with this latest release because changes were necessary in order to fit with the new J! 1.6/1.7 CMS. In particular, many of the third-party templates written for K 1.6 in its early stages will cause problems. If in doubt, please contact the authors(s) responsible for those things.

At this time all previously-released add-on extensions for Kunena have been updated and will need to be separately installed. As with all other releases, K 1.7.0 is available for download on the download page.
    AnchorHighlights

    Single package for Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.7 (specifically, J! 1.5.23; J! 1.6.6 and J! 1.7.0).
Security Fix: JomSocial activity stream integration displays hidden topics to all users.
Security Fix: Only global moderators should be able to ban users.
Joomla 1.7 Access Level Groups support for categories (works also in J! 1.5 and J! 1.6).
Joomla 1.7 Access Control for component administration.
Joomla 1.7 Multi-Language support for Kunena menu.
Build-in reCAPTCHA support with some new features. Replaces J! 1.5 only CAPTCHA plugin we used before.
Subscriptions feature can now be configured to send emails to multiple receivers. Improves performance and helps to avoid email flooding limits.
Fix naming conflicts with Nooku Framework.
Fix a bug: Blocked users are getting subscription emails from public categories.
Fix a bug: Cannot log out if Community Builder integration is turned on.
.. and many other bug fixes.
Announces end-of-life for Kunena 1.6 and end of support for Kunena 1.5.

Geez Chris, my brain hurt after the first three lines of the above, still I guess theres an Ol’ Bull tech head out there somewhere that might get the gist of what your saying……

    Damn funny TB!
As for STM, enjoy it while you can Mate, you’ll get old ‘n crusty too one day, in Mick’s and my defence (as fellow old farts!!), it aint ability that stops us after dark, its just that … well as you get older openning hour slips a little earlier in the days activities to the point where driving after dark is just plain illegal. You only need driving light for those intricate little bike repairs that involve bright light, like fitting decals etc… ;)

Hey TB i need more emoticons, I want one for this little speil with a walking stick, hat, white hair and thick glasses!
Ineeded one the other day of one with a straw hat and a corn cob pipe, think i might have mentioned Nundle people in that bit of text ….

I agree with Mick Squizzy, the Police give the Watgans a right working over and have done for the last few months – everyweekend, results of thier efforts published in the Newie Herald. A ride is sooooo much more relaxed when you aren’t worried about whether the Cops are around the next corner. Blokes I ride with have been aproached by the Police twice since July and we don’t hang around so they’ll catch up with you no matter how fast you are, they got our boles at the cats loading the bikes back up on one occasion.
Other spots locally include Wallaroo (lots of rocks :pinch: ), Dungog (big hills  ), Nundle (Hicks  ) and many others, look to the rides section of the OB forum.
I tend to agree with TB, the Yammys are a nice inexpensive second hand bike, the DRZs are bullet proof but a bit much weight for a 16 yr old unless he’s built like a brick sh!thouse… don’t write off the 2 strokes a 250cc KTM, Gas gas or Husky might be the go, there not as scary as they sound but a good one might stretch your budget for the 2 bikes.
Give me a yell when you get yourself and your young feller set up and I’ll show you around!

    Cheers

Well the TE310 is run in now, been bashed around the Watagans, Wallaroo and Dungog a few times now.
Suspension off this weekend and down to Dr Nik and Evil Ruddy.
    Key points:
[li]500km on bike, chenged to 2.5wgt in fork otherwise stock apart from sag and clickers adjustment, the change in oil wgt helped but didn’t solve all problems
    [/li]
[li]Front end washes out due to damping to stiff in middle of travel
    [/li]
[li]Front end goes metal to metal over decent erosion mounds
    [/li]
[li]Wound clickers out to soften damping and now the intial travel is mushy
    [/li]
[li]I’m a complete short ar$e and need a lower seat height (as long as geometry ain’t impacted too much)

Feedback following magic wizard work from Teknik to follow.

(i’ve editied this about 5 times nowall other stuff ups can stay in the text f it!!)

    Cheers
